My friends...the stakes of the fall of the NY Mayoral race have increased dramatically within the last few days.
This mayoral race between a proud socialist, capitalism hater, jew hater- against the current mayor, eric Adams, who has fallen out of favor with New Yorkers- is becoming ‘thee’ showdown between the socialist progressives who have wanted to completely take over the party since Hillary lost- and the more traditionally liberal and ‘establishment’ members of that party, and of that side of the aisle.
Zohran Mamdani’s win in the democrat primary has all sorts of traditionally liberal democrats and business elites, media elites, and powerful people on their side of the aisle freaked out.
The Washington Post editors published a blistering anti-Mamdani editorial that shocked the east coast- because ‘this is the post’. Aside from the New York times-there isn’t a more leftist newspaper in the country- nor a more powerful voice ‘in print’ for the leftist side of the aisle.
The terrible irony here is that-today’s establishment democrats- from Nancy Pelosi and chuck Schumer -to the loudest and most influential mouthpieces inside govt and among the NY and DC elite-created- these young socialist monsters. They cultivated them with early indoctrinations and extreme ideas. Now they’ve grown into adults. Stone cold. Leftist monsters whom they can’t control.
It’s got the old-school and establishment democrats mortified and running scared now-as they realize they won’t be able to control them. They know that Mamdani and AOC and Rashida Talib. etc.... are too extreme even for them! For the rancid, activist liberals who spawned them!
This is a very consequential development-because it looks like the traditionally powerful ‘old school’ and establishment democrats who have always controlled this party.... are being forced into a direct showdown with the young, upstart, bullying socialists for future control of this party.
I know I was talking about it in these terms, already, last week: that’s because I always seem to be two days to ‘two weeks ahead of a lot of other pundits on this stuff-
But the developments over the weekend prove i was ‘dead on’: that this NY mayor’s race is going to be a proxy race for the national democrat party and larger control of the overall operation.
And the developments over the weekend kept raising the stakes of the showdown.
This is going to be interesting. And it could determine the future of the country.
I know some conservative pundits are rooting for NY, Chicago, and la to ‘burn to ashes. Just sit back and watch these socialists ‘once and for all’ destroy these big cities dems have mismanaged for decades....
But....I get alarmed when so many Americans seem ‘so willing’ to brush against socialism...and not understand how wrong they are and how dangerous that ideology is.
Another ‘red flag’ that had traditional democrats mortified and vowing to ‘stop Mamdani’.... was an appearance on CNN in which he admitted he’s anti-capitalist. Doesn’t like capitalism.
And listen to the b.s. reason he gives as to ‘why’.

That....is a serious line of malarkey...and yet, it seems based on ‘compassion’ and ‘caring’ and even some ‘bargain basement’ sort of Christianity...in a perfect example of the sort of ridiculous crap that socialists can get ‘the average person’ to fall for.
Even left-wing critics pounced on this comment and said, good grief, he’s a 33-year-old dope with no understanding of history.
My response to people who say we, on the right, should just sit back and watch it all burn: if no one pushes back on Mamdani and AOC’s mushy, ignorant, idiocy- it becomes the norm. It becomes the next round of ‘talking points’ for democrat politicians and young activists...
And becomes the ‘next thing’ that has the country’s political discourse and ‘political IQ’...falling a few more notches.
Zohran Mamdani is a young, dangerous idiot. And I’ll keep pointing that out to you: he’s not an AOC...in which everything that falls out of her mouth is obvious stupidity.
He’s much more of a charlatan...who can wrap up his ‘dangerous idiocy’ into something that tricks a shocking large group of ignorant and low iq people in this country.
That’s! What I worry about.
Peter Orszag is a great example of the type of life-long New York democrat who is saying ‘these young socialists are destroying our party’.
Orszag is the CEO of the company now, but served as barrack Obama’s director of office and budget management-
He was a powerful-high level-Obama advisor. And he said this, Friday, on CNBC:
Barrack Obama wasn’t a ‘traditional liberal’. He ‘leaned into’ this ‘socialist progressive’ wing of the democrat party.
This is-one of Obama’s top advisors! - saying today’s new democrat is dangerous.
Wow.
New York media have been reporting that there is a genuine and widespread panic on wall street and across the city’s business community.
Ceos and board members are being shelled with questions about how- or when- they are going to move their corporate headquarters out of NY city.
Because ‘all of them know’.... if the democrat party doesn’t change course, that city is sunk.
I was happy to see a brilliant NY columnist like Michael Goodwin echo some of my themes from last week....
One of which was:shoran Mamdani’s primary win in New York isn’t some new ‘win’ for the democrat party, it’s the latest in a series of losses. It’s proof that their major problems-inside that tent- continue.
Folks- New York city has the largest population of Jews outside of Israel. No kidding. It’s an interesting trivia question.
At least 1.3 million Jews live in NY city. This clown is going to be their mayor.
The three top NY lawmakers in DC: Chuck Schumer, Hakeem Jefferies, and Kirsten Gillibrand are all distancing themselves from this clown.
Oh-they all said generic ‘gracious things’ of the sort you are supposed to when a member of your own party wins something, but none of the three are endorsing his candidacy-
And Gillibrand has openly criticized him for wanting to ‘globalize the intifada’...because...as she put it: that statement means destroy Israel and kill all the Jews’.
Yes. That’s what it means...and what it has always meant. And his fellow democrats shouldn’t let Mamdani try to redefine it, or nuance it, or claim that it’s just a generic slogan for the intersectionality movement-
Because that’s all crap. But it’s how today’s young western socialists are using it. If he’s one of them-he’s too stupid and dangerous to ever be in a position of power.
Goodwin also makes the point that- Mamdani’s victory represents another manifestation of the left’s compulsion to be rabidly against whatever Donald Trump is for.
That’s true. And it also means that ‘this is the moment’. The time has come. For today’s democrat leaders, voters, and activist groups to step back and look at themselves...how they’ve acted...and what they’ve come to support and ‘stand for’ in the name of ‘opposing trump.’
They just nominated a candidate for NY mayor who is anti-capitalist...because trump is for it.
Who is anti-jew and anti-Israel...because Trump is for them...etc.
Today’s democrats are on the ‘wrong side’ of virtually every 80/20 issue because trump is on the ‘right side’ of every 80/20 issue...and they’ve mindlessly leapt to oppose him.
It’s actually the main way that Trump’s ‘very existence’ in politics has broken and shattered the modern Democrat party.
