Well...the jury is in...and my take on how -whether anything President Trump said in his speech is remembered by this weekend- what will be remembered is the basic jackassery that the democrats engaged in. As elected representatives of this country. In the hallowed chambers of the house of representatives.
It’s clear that even members of the panels full of their own ‘talking heads found their behavior disgraceful and foolish. The dems -did not- cover themselves in glory on Tuesday night.
My prediction was: the American people are going to remember today’s democrat leaders sitting all bitter and glum, with their silly little auction paddles.... refusing to cheer actions that 70 to 80 percent of Americans are excited about-
Like open borders, lower taxes, deporting criminals, etc.
And worse- these lunkheads refused to even stand and applaud for cancer victims, and brave Americans, and other honored guests with great stories who were in the chamber.
I tell yah- not finding it in their hearts to show a little love for a neat little 13-year-old cancer kid- really- did not go over well-with anyone watching.
What a mistake.
But- it was proof, folks-Trump derangement Ebola has so ‘eaten out’ the democrats brain pans that they refuse to celebrate America, it’s traditions, it’s strengths, it’s joys.
Man-this is a dower bunch.
I said before the speech: if the dems really intend to sit there and look grim, I’m going to love the optics. If they really sit and refuse to cheer on America and a dramatic new sense of optimism that we are seeing in this country- great.
And their performance was even worse-with their booing, and al green’s stunt, and their little auction paddles.
It’s all priceless video and imagery to be used against them next fall in their re-election races.
And hey-Trump’s team isn’t waiting till fall.
Karoline Leavitt couldn’t wait to blast the democrats for their behavior at yesterday’s press briefing.
Their actions are going to leave a ‘lasting mark’, yes. Rachel Bade is Politico’s capitol bureau chief-which means there’s a good chance she’s a left winger...and she blasted democrats yesterday:
Bade isn’t wrong about that, either. It’s being missed -by nearly everyone- that MI senator Elissa Slotkin gave what was a very ‘centrist’ and ‘moderate’ democrat response to trump. In fact- neither abortion nor transgender were uttered even once.
Imagine that: Slotkin game up with a reasonable-sounding retort for any viewer who might have wanted to hear it.
But her speech was completely overshadowed by the post-mortem coverage analyzing the democrat’s antics afterward-
And it was absolutely overshadowed by the myriad and fantastic memes that were circulating around social media yesterday.
Making fun of these democrats was a relentless activity for at least 12 hours after the speech.
He's not going to disappoint voters when it comes to closing the border and deporting criminal illegals.... or...putting America first.... or ending Dei....or ‘by god’- forcing a reduction of government.
He's already paying off all those promises. And so, unless his moves make the economy worse, republicans will be in a very strong position in 2026 and 2028 to say- ‘promises kept. America is stronger. And we just proved democrats suck and should never govern again’.
A second politico piece wanted to characterize Trump’s speech as ‘divisive’ and only satisfying his Maga base.
What are they talking about?
Again-this is the ‘take’ of someone trapped inside the dc bubble-and dealing with at least a mild case of trump derangement syndrome: polls taken over the last two weeks-and polls taken after the speech- are proving over, and over, and over, and over again- 70 to 80 percent of the American people are ‘with trump’ when it comes to his most important agenda items.
You can’t call that a ‘red meat’ speech that only ‘spoke to Maga’...when the polls afterward show 70 percent of people CNN polled loved it...and 76 percent of CBS respondents loved it. These east coast elites and dc democrats are -still! - in a deep state of denial.
Jeez louis:63 percent of viewers told CBS that trump talked about the issues they cared about.
68 percent labeled the speech ‘hopeful’.
54 percent said the speech left them ‘feeling proud’. Only sixteen percent of viewers said it left them feeling ‘angry’.
68 percent of viewers said they believe president trump has a clear plan to handle inflation. Only 32 percent said he doesn’t.
My god- in a nation that has been divided right down the middle, politically, for at least two decades- how can anyone look at any. Any. Of these polls and pretend Trump isn’t appealing to most of the country. Isn’t impressing most of the country?
At this point-we have so many polls in just seven weeks-that anyone even trying to claim that trump is unpopular here- are outing themselves as unserious idiots.
If you watched that speech Tuesday night and came away saying....’but trump’...
I don’t know what you were watching!
Trump was not ‘the angry embarrassment’ on Tuesday. The democrats were.
And for all the talk of the need for the democrat party to moderate-
No. They’re not going to moderate.
Post election- radical hags Liz Warren and Bernie Sanders are the most powerful voices representing the party in the senate-and AOC and Jasmine Crockett are the most powerful voices representing the party in the house.
You think this party’s going to ‘moderate’?
Come on.
Today’s democrats- don’t want to find the way out of the deep forest of arrogance and denial that they’re in. Wake up.
