President Donald Trump's approval rating has dropped to a new low for his second of two non-consecutive terms in office, according to the latest NBC News Decision Desk Poll powered by SurveyMonkey.

Trump is reported to have a 37% overall approval rating and a 63% disapproval rating, which includes 50% who said they strongly disapprove, setting a new low for his current term. Two-thirds of respondents said they disapproved of the president's handling of both inflation and the war in Iran.

Trump still has an overwhelming support from his base, however, Republicans have reportedly softened since previous NBC News Decision Desk polls conducted in late January and early February. An estimated 83% of Republican respondents gave the president a positive approval rating, though it's a decrease of 4% from earlier in the year and the percentage of Republicans who strongly approve Trump's job performance has decreased from 58% to 52%.

Trump is reported to have a -15.4% average net approval rating, according to Real Clear Polling, which took results from several national polls between March 20 and April 19. The president is reported to have a 41.2% average approval rating and a 56.6% average disapproval rating among several national polls, which includes the NBC News Decision Desk survey as well as Rasmussen Reports, Economist/YouGov, RMG Research, Quinnipiac, CBS News, Daily Mail, Morning Consult, I&I/TIPP, CNN, Harvard-Harris, Quantus Insights, Big Data Poll and FOX News.
