Oh- we start this winning segment with a big win. A long-sought win. A ‘finally final’ win.
I’m talking about an appeals court finally driving a stake into President Biden’s student bailout program.
The media wants to call this the ‘student loan forgiveness’ program-but it wasn’t a forgiveness program. It was a scummy attempt to buy the votes of young people who have college debt-and the scheme was to shift it onto the backs of taxpayers even though- most of them- hadn’t gone to college or had repaid their own college debts.
This was an infuriating and disgusting attempt from the very beginning. Widely unpopular with the American people.
But- Biden, Squats, Bernie- were so certain that they could ‘buy votes’ this way, that neither the president-nor the democrats pushing him- would ‘give it up’.
Not even after Biden was slapped down by the supreme court the first time.
Nope, Biden had to double down, then triple down, then quadruple down- every time a court told him he didn’t have the executive powers to do this: shift one person or group’s debts- onto another person...and claim he was ‘helping the country’ by doing it.
Finally-yesterday- because Biden’s out of the office and his team can no longer pivot and just keep going-
We got a ruling that should end all this nonsense for good.
What happens now is- Donald trump’s department of justice simply drops the case. Doesn’t appeal. And refuses to try to ‘rescue’ Biden’s slippery cheat if they are asked to.
That’s how this end, now, six states have sued over this:
This appeals court slammed every door that they could find- to ensure this doesn’t happen again. Which is great.
The Trumps team has been looking for ways to eliminate the ‘save plan’, but I guess they don’t have to, now.
The courts did it for them.
This is also an opportunity to point out how- it was Joe Biden and the democrats- who have been ignoring court orders and ignoring the constitution to insist on getting what they want.
The first supreme court ruling was so clear that it should have shut the door to any attempts by Biden’s team to ‘keep this going’...or ‘change a few words’ and put the plan back in place -pretending it was constitutional now- etc.
Courts had to say four or five times-at various levels: the president cannot do this. You are violating the law. Stop it. And still, Biden’s regime didn’t stop.
So-which side won’t honor the constitution?
Which side is going to ignore court rulings it doesn’t like?
The democrats ignored them in the Obama era- with most famous example being. Obama ramming ahead with DACA, even after a court declared it to be an unconstitutional move and demand Obama end it...
And we’ve had several famous examples from the Biden era- including continuing with rent-control emergency orders even after a court told him to stop...etc.
I keep hearing dems and never-Trumpers insisting they are worried about how lawless Donald Trump is going to be: how he’s just going to ignore any court ruling that he doesn’t like.
That’s crap.
That’s what their side does.
You can’t find one instance of trump or his team ignoring a court ruling in term one-and even though dozens- dozens- of lawsuits have already been filed against his exec orders and doge moves already this term-
You can’t find a single instance in which Trump and his team are ignoring the court order and plowing ahead, anyway. They are honoring every ludicrous injunction and ruling that’s been issued over the last four weeks- no matter how ridiculous, indefensible, or even unconstitutional- it is.
And yes- several of these lower court judges have made unconstitutional determinations in their zeal to just ‘stop trump.’
He and his team are even honoring those orders for now.
Most of those are the sorts of lower court rulings that I’ve been saying- need to be challenged- based on the strong belief that the founders never intended the lower courts to be able to stop a presidential order in its’ tracks-and/or issue an injunction against them that applied to the entire country.
These lower courts-forever-have been overstepping their authority and blocking presidential orders nationwide-
Which means activists on either side- only need to find a single lower court judge that will do their partisan bidding. And of course, the democrats and left-wing activists have terribly abused this process for at least two decades, now.
Judge shopping for one loony, lefty judge to do their political bidding.
And folks-it’s starting to look like the left-wing lawyers are getting worried about having trump’s team do-just that: grab up one of these idiotic lower court injunctions and press that case. There’s this sense, suddenly, that we can’t press trump too far with these lawsuits- or he might go to court and get a favorable ruling that erases every single injunction that we’ve managed to get put in place over the last four weeks.
Wouldn’t that be something?
And trumps team should do it-because a huge part of the Dem’s strategy here is simply delay, delay, delay. They want to stop .and slow down...as many of Trump’s executive changes as they car. And if nothing else...drag them all out in court until they collapse under their own weight- or under a new regime four years from now.
Both Clarence Thomas and Sam Alito- in previous cases before the Supreme Court- have said that ‘at some point, the high court needs to look at these lower courts who think they can issue one ruling and speak for the country’...
And so- what better time to press a case and get that ruling? It’s a 6-3 conservative court. You can even afford to have John Roberts go all ‘Ninny and Nancy’ on you and disagree- and still win.
Trump should do it.
My other wins here are going to have to wait for another segment...because i had so much to say about this one:
