So…. our two acting presidents, Donald Trump and Jill Biden- will both be in Paris this weekend, attending the reopening ceremonies of Notre Dame.
It’s interesting that Donald Trump got the invite first-and had responded to it publicly- before we ever heard from the White House. It makes me wonder whether Emanuel Macron invited them both at the same time- which I assume was the case-
And that the Bidens didn’t plan on going until Trump said he’d be there- or what.
But suddenly-Jill’s going. Joe doesn’t seem to be.
After all-he will just be back from a three-day trip to Angola- and if we know anything about the 84-year-old Joe Biden-it’s that it takes him about a week to recover from an overseas trip.
And that’s even though he has his own private plane with a bedroom in it-and no hassle flying both ways.
I’ve traveled enough that- for the life of me- i don’t know what it takes Biden so long to ‘bounce back’ from after these trips.
But he is in his mid-80s….and i highly doubt that they will put him back on a plane to fly to France for what is purely a ceremonial thing:
The reopening of Notre Dame after more than five years of renovation following the fire.
Reporters are wondering if Jill Biden has plans to meet with Donald trump in Paris.
Come on.
No, she doesn’t.
And why would she?
I understand that Jill Biden has-wanted to be-president for all these years, but she’s not, and there’d be no reason to have a meeting with Donald Trump in Paris.
They’ll probably be seated next to each other during the ceremony and that’ll be ‘enough contact’ for both.
By the way: when does a pew really stink?
When a Biden is sitting in it.

The far more interesting part of this to me is: Emmanuel Macron invited both Joe and Donald…and Donald. Who is far busier than Joe at this point- putting together his transition team-
Donald- said ‘yes’ first. He would be there- representing the country at this globally significant event.
The Bidens? Couldn’t have seemed to care less…and only two days after they found out trump was going…was it announced that jill was going.
You can almost hear them saying: aalll riigghtt…. I guess we really should send someone.
There are still about 45 days left in this Biden presidency- but they have been ‘mentally done’ since the moment dame Pelosi shoved joe off the ticket.
And don’t get me wrong: that’s a good thing. The best way that joe Biden can ‘finish strong’ is to do nothing, given that every time he’s decided over the last four years-it’s been a bad one.
It’s preferable that he’s already, basically, gone’.
His agency minions and committed deep-state leftists are still hurriedly working to try to get every bit of last-minute leftism shoved into the regulations…. but the Biden’s themselves…are ‘done’. You can tell just by looking at them.
They’ve spent most of their time since getting kicked off the ticket at the Delaware beach house…moving beach chairs around in the sand.
It’s why Emmanuel Macron immediately pivoted to trump. Trust me: macron and his team knew it was far more important-
Far more important-that Donald Trump and his team of advisors fly across the pond to participate- and meet with macron as trump gets ready to take over again-
Than to meet with Biden, again.
Remember-the last time Biden was in France…he literally wandered away from the photo op to look at the pretty parachute.
Remember?
Macron has no need to meet with Joe Biden, again. But he needs trump: putting trump at the center of this global VIP event…tells you everything you need to know about who has the real power in the western world-and shows you how quickly power flows from one person to the next in this American system of ours.
Trump will be the most important person at that global VIP event. Even more-so than macron, who’s throwing the party.
It’s also-for dc insiders, anyway- another illustration of Joe Biden’s sad, long, good-bye.
There’s genuine poetry to be written here…about karmic justice…and how Biden’s political career is ending…
But there are also poetic themes related to how Joe Biden’s life ends. Time comes for all of us, and the democrats might have tried their best to portray Biden as a ‘lion in winter’ when he was elected…. but he’s a frail, weakened, defeated, time-ravaged lion who is limping off into the wild to die now. The literary themes jump right out at you when you see Biden now, don’t they?
They will-for any historian.
I feel like Doris Kerns Goodwin already has about 300 pages of flowery BS written on this jackass’s presidency and how it ended.
Anyway-you can tell Emmanuel Macron doesn’t want to waste any time getting onto trump’s good side- especially now that trump has already sort of slapped down both Canada and Mexico.
He’s still six weeks from taking over, and he’s already brought Justin Trudeau and Gloria Sheinbaum to heel.
Trump’s ‘soft power’ plays are already evident, and macron wants to start off on his good side.
Every world leader is now wondering how and ‘when’ they are going to have to deal with trump, again, and planning for it. Especially in the e-u, which hasn’t really had a clear, stand out leader since Angela Merkel left the office.
And I am not calling her an ‘outstanding leader’. She had her good and bad points.
I’m saying Merkel was the strongest leader among them and understood that- with Germany’s economic and political power - it was the most important nation in Europe. Macron has tried to steal that mantle since Merkel left. And Germany developed more of its own problems.
No one can even name the German chancellor now…and don’t bother learning it: Olaf Scholz is probably on his ‘way out’, too.
His governing coalition just collapsed and there are new elections set for February.
Meanwhile-the lefty labor party is in charge in Britain-and their members really hate trump.
Still-their prime minister- Kier Starmer- is also making overturns related to kissing trump’s ring.
And remember-Britain isn’t even part of the European union, anymore, so it doesn’t have much clout on the mainland.
So, there are all sorts of political undercurrents to Trump’s trip this weekend. It’s about a lot more than seeing the new plaster inside a cathedral.
It also proves that -more than any other presidential transition that i can remember- trump is already acting like he’s president- and the outgoing guy doesn’t seem to care.
It’s striking how much Donald Trump has already ‘gotten done’ over just a few weeks.
No other incoming president acts this way.
It is -in part-because Donald trump has done this before and is in the very rare position of coming back for a second term when someone else held a term in between his.
That’s one reason Trump is leaping right back in.
It’s also because Trump is a private sector business guy whose instincts are to jump in and lead. Unlike the normal pattern in dc.
And it’s because Joe Biden is-so- so- defeated and disinterested. It’s clear Joe and Jill would agree to vacate the white house by new years day if trump asked them. They’re so ‘done’, they don’t seem to care that Donald Trump is already acting like the boss.
Trump is already doing all sorts of early winning.
Trump is already completely changing the dynamic.
