Just as early voting starts, Kammy's support dropping off

Jay Weber Show transcript 9-25-24

I tossed out this nugget on Friday: two Rasmussen pollsters claiming that Kamala Harris’ poll numbers were doing to start to slide again this week based on what they were hearing from respondents as they went about doing their poll tracking-last week.

That’s turning out to be correct. We have seen polls from the NY Times/Sienna, Quinnipiac, Emerson...etc... that are showing both the national race back down within a point or two.... and... showing trump with 2-, 3-, or 4-point leads in some of the swing states again.

So-that nugget seems accurate.

One little tidbit we learned yesterday is: apparently, the Kamala Harris campaign strategy is to-never- between now and election day-

Never- open Kamala Harris into more interviews or unscripted moments.

Wow.

There’s a CNBC analyst named Joe Kernen, who is an advisor to the Harris campaign and was openly questioning this on his show yesterday.  Really?

You aren’t going to tell the American people where you stand or what you stand for? At any point in this race?

Even one of Kamala’s outside advisors is surprised by that.

Folks, there seems to be more and more ‘open questioning’ or ‘quiet questioning’ from Kammy’s fellow democrats- over campaign strategy.

I did a segment yesterday about how flabbergasted insiders on both sides of the aisle were, when the Harris campaign turned down an invite to the venerable, high profile, Al Smith dinner. This is put on by the NY archdiocese. It raises millions for needy women, children, and families. It’s a presidential staple going back to 1960.when Kennedy and Nixon both attended and took gentle jabs at each other.

It’s a night of collegiality and gentle ribbing and humor that trump immediately said yes to, only to have Kammy slam the door on it.

Either she-or her handlers-or both- have decided that they simply cannot have her subjected to an unscripted moment.

But it’s such a dumb decision: there won’t be any tough press questions. She can read from a pre-prepared script. She can tell clever jokes written by someone else....and still come off looking witty and clever. She can prove that she’s got a sense of humor and doesn’t take herself too seriously.

There are so many upsides here- it shocked the political conscience for her to say no.

To the point that!!!

To the point that!! -other democrats have clearly approached cardinal Dolan and said...’we’ll try to get her to reconsider. We’ll try to get her here’.

Listen to the Cardinal at an event yesterday when he was asked about it.

The Cardinal looks great, by the way. He lost most of the weight he carried while he was the archbishop here- some time ago....and he looks even more fit now.

The Milwaukee ‘brat and beer’ weight is gone...and he’s at a ‘Shi Shi’ Manhattan weight now, I guess. He looks good.

The Cardinal has also hit his retirement age, but of course, it’s up to the Pope to ‘release you to retire’ once you’ve hit that age.

Apparently, you need to bring it to the pope’s attention. Send a letter saying, just so you know, papa, I’m 70 and still working for Jesus, so, whenever you can spare me, retirement looks good to me.

We just saw Archbishop Listecki do it, here in Milwaukee, and it was a bit of a surprise, frankly, given the perpetual priest shortage, that the pope said ‘yes’.

But i doubt pope Francis is ready to take the huge and influential NY Archdiocese out of cardinal Dolan’s very capable and popular hands...and give it to someone else. So, we’ll see.

It sometimes helps if the pope is of one political persuasion and the priest who’s asking is of the other one-

As in- pope Francis has proven how liberal he is- on both political and church matters. Cardinal Dolan is known to be conservative on both. So... will this liberal pope want the NY Archdiocese being run by a more liberal cardinal?

We don’t know. Dolan could be allowed to retire soon-or-never.  We don’t know.

Anyway-

Back to Kamala Harris being so petrified of any unscripted moment that she’s ducking Cardinal Dolan and the Al Smith dinner:

It’s not just Kamala who’s avoiding interviews. It’s also Tim Walz, her goofy running mate. Which means this is an intentional strategy for the campaign-

And means that this ‘don’t tell the American people nothing’ strategy is how they have decided to handle the fact that both Harris and Walz are -so radical-

Are so out of touch with most American’s values and issues-

That they simply cannot be put in a situation in which either one of them...are asked to defend them.

Know what i mean?

Kamala Harris keeps saying her values have not changed.

Well, okay, then she’s a radical, cop hating, border hating Marxist who’s spent a political career harming America rather than helping it.

Ditto for Walz.

As Quin Hillyer of the Washington Examiner puts it:

Voters should feel extremely insulted by the Harris-Walz game of “hide” while the liberal media refuse to “seek.” Never in the electronic media age has a major party put forth a nominee who never had to work for the nomination and then refused to take serious media questions, all while her campaign aides repeatedly say, without explanation, that she has abandoned a boatload of her earlier policy choices. Worse, when she is given chances to explain the shifts, she not only doesn’t reveal her thinking but says her values haven’t changed — an obvious ploy to take both sides of issues. If voters like her old values, she still has them! If voters don’t like her old positions based on those values, she has new ones!

Those values are diametrically opposed to what most Americans want-and believe-

And so, there’s no way this democrat ticket should get their vote.

Folks- after Joe Biden lied to the country and ran as a centrist-only to embrace the Bernie Sanders left after he won-

Ever since- we’ve been on a path toward more collectivism and Marxism and cultural and moral decline. American decline if you will.

We’ve seen relentless attacks on our individual rights. Parental rights. Attacks on our religious liberties and free speech.

We’ve even seen attacks on our Supreme Court and our multi-party-political system. Today’s democrats want one-party, perpetual control, and are angling to get it in any way they can.

This last four year should have been a waking nightmare for anyone who calls themselves and American and believes in the things this country was built on-including ‘first principals’, fair elections, and the separation of powers.

And it should be clear to those same people that -that means- this election, there is only one choice: Donald Trump.

He’s already led the country- to more success and stability and freedom- not less.

He’s already cut taxes and deregulated and shown us how to secure our borders. He’s already saved the supreme court from leftist ideology and salvaged much of the federal judiciary by naming constitutional honoring judges to the bench.

All these moves speak to a man whose instinct is to ‘preserve’ democracy...or even ‘save’ democracy.... instead of harm it.

The democrats keep calling trump a threat to democracy- when they are really the ones who have been creating new threats to democracy at every turnover the last four years.

As Robert Knight, a columnist for the Washington Times says:

Despite Democrats painting him as a “threat to democracy,” a projection of their own ambitions, Mr. Trump reduced federal regulations in his first term and freed up market forces, especially in the energy sector. His Supreme Court and appellate judges have reversed decades of leftist judicial activism that had expanded state power.

Elections should never be this important. Life has more compelling things, such as faith, family, friends, community, career, and various pursuits. Under limited government outlined in the Constitution, we should be able to go about life without worrying that undue power will be wielded against us and our children and grandchildren.

Knight is correct.

There should never be this much riding on one election. But there is-because today’s democrats have spent the last four years destroying and ignoring so many historical and constitutional norms- as they and their loyalists have threatened to do far worse.

If you want to save the republic- vote-and vote Republican.
