My friends- after a Tuesday debate that the glitterati media and most snap polls insisted ‘Kamala Harris won’...
We then saw -over the next few days: undecided voters didn’t see it that way. They moved toward Donald Trump by a factor of about two-to-one.
And so-I would suggest to you that kamala Harris and her campaign-did not-have a good week last week- even if Trump’s wasn’t very good either.
But-the capper on the week was Kammy doing her ‘second’ sit down interview on Friday. She did it with a local ABC affiliate in Philly. The anchor tossed her questions that she and her campaign-absolutely-should have answers for my now-
And seven weeks later- she still doesn’t.
These are easy questions like: give me two or three things you’d do on your first day in office?
What would you do differently than Joe Biden on...the economy? The border?
You keep saying you are going to help the middle class? How will you do so?
What is an ‘opportunity economy’? Define it for us.
Seven weeks later, Kamala Harris still has no answers for these ‘easy’ questions. And it’s an indictment of the people who are running her campaign- as well as of Kamala herself: they really think they can just bash and smear trump-with no agenda for the country themselves-
At least not one that they are willing to state-
And they’re going to win this.
But if you missed this Friday interview- you should know that the trump campaign simply found the link...and put it up on social media as the latest ‘trump campaign ad’.
Kamala was so bad. It was such a 12-minute word-salad of her saying nothing-that the trump campaign literally linked to it and said: we urge all Americans to watch this.
That’s how bad it was.
As Brit Hume put it on x: she managed to get thru the debate without her essential emptiness being exposed...but it was on full display in this local tv interview.
A different poster said: this is the kamala Harris the dems couldn’t hide forever. She used tons and tons of words to say nothing at all.
Yep.
Let me give you a few examples here. This first question is one that she refused to address in the debate- she sidestepped it then, too:
That’s about 45 seconds of her answer-but -just so you know...kamala’s full answer to that question went 90 seconds...and she never did answer the question-much less- give him ‘some specifics’ on how she was going to help the middle class or turn this economy around.
The entire interview was nothing but word salads-and saying nothing using a lot of words. Here’s another good example. I defy you to tell me what she’s talking about here.

This speaks to a point i was making last week: politico was detailing the new ‘strategy’ for Kamala Harris when it came to doing interviews-remember?
The Harris team has decided she does need to do interviews, but they weren’t going to have her do any network- or high-profile ones. If Lester Holt of NBC and dana bash of CNN served up soft balls...and she still looked lost and silly.... Well, major media interviews are ‘out’.
So-
What the Harris campaign decided to do was-only have her do local media outlets with friendly reporters...like this one from ABC in Philly...
And do podcasts with liberal hosts. Do Black and Hispanic radio- if the host of the program is liberal...etc.
This was last week’s ‘stated new strategy’ for Kamala Harris doing interviews: in short-they were going to hide her away and only have her do fawning interviews that would be heard by niche groups of democrat voters...
But, this is why I said it wasn’t going to work: okay, she can do this interview with a fawning local Philly host- but her answers are still so ludicrous and ridiculous- that the ‘effects’ of the interview aren’t going to be contained to the Philly tv market.
She is-so bad- in these things...others seek out the audio and video and share it with the country. The age of social media means that none of these ‘niche’, safe, ‘inside the bubble’ interviews that she plans to do-are going to remain contained within the bubble. Within the leftist echo chamber. Get it?
Here’s another snippet that went viral, because it’s an example of this Philly reporter teeing up a softball for her- and actually asking a question that most undecided voters say they want answered: how are you different than joe Biden? Only to have her do a total ‘face plant’.
After seven weeks. After a debate. After two sit down interviews in which she’s gotten the same question-Kamala Harris still can’t tell us how she’d be any different than Joe Biden—and-
And-it’s an indictment of her entire campaign that not of the ‘smart people’ coaching her have crafted an answer and had her memorize it. Right?
Folks-unless you watch this entire interview she did Friday....you cannot understand how bad it was. She filibustered for 12 minutes, on just five questions. Her average response went 90 seconds....and every single answer was simply stringing words together and saying nothing.
I’ve never seen anything quite like it- nor- have I– in 35 years of doing this-
Nor have i ever seen-anyone-so unprepared for national politics. She is completely out of her depth-out of her element-and out of her league.
Folks- Hugh Hewitt is not a ‘bomb thrower’. He is not given to hyperbole or exaggeration. He pops up on NBC as a conservative analyst specifically-because-he’ll offer actual analysis instead of just cheerleading for the right...or insulting the left.
Hugh Hewitt-is not- known for comments like this one-and yet- after the local interview Friday-he said it:

I’ll impress upon you again that Hugh Hewitt is about as ‘gentlemanly’ a talk show host as you can get-and he just comes out and says it: I’ve concluded that this woman doesn’t have a brain in her head.
It is-remarkable- how ill prepared and out of her league Kamala Harris is- having risen to ‘where’ she is.
If you think that’s too harsh- you aren’t seeing the stories, and the videos, of long-time democrats who are upset that the party elders forced Kamala Harris onto them at the last minute.
Ignored the will and the opinions of 14-million primary voters. And said, ‘deal with it’.
There appear to be all sorts of disgruntled democrats out there who were having trouble agreeing with the radical, woke, left turn that this party has taken over the last four years- and now having the party elites act like socialist dictators and thrust a new puppet into place atop the party- genuinely is ‘the last straw’ for some of them.
Oh-and as a final kicker to this local news interview-
You’ll love this.
As a final twist: when this reporter and his editors boiled down the interview to run in a smaller news package that night- they grossly and deceptively edited it. They edited out the word salads as much as they could-and in one instance-even took the reporter’s question...and then attached an answer two it that she had given to an entirely different question.
This is a-huge- no-no- when it comes to ethical journalism. To pretend as if ‘that question and that answer’ go together.
We asked her ‘this’...and here’s what she said’...
It’s a total breach of trust and journalistic standards to do that-
But the ABC affiliate is being run by leftists who were willing to do it- after they saw what a mess of an interview they had ‘to work with’ for the rest of the news weekend.
