Trump should debate Kammy every week up to the election

Jay Weber Show transcript 8-5-24 7:10am

So much of today’s politics amounts to just ‘arguing like children’.

It’s the ‘headache inducing’ part of my job.

And the argument that went on all weekend about ‘who was too chicken to debate’ was a great example.

If you were on the left- you were told that ‘Donald Trump canceled the September 10th debate on ABC...and now insists on a Fox news debate, instead.

This is how liberals view what happened, here.

But Donald Trump didn’t’ call off the September 10th debate. Joe Biden did, when he dropped out. That debate and the conditions ‘set’ around it, no longer apply.

In fact-if you remember-the ‘conditions’ negotiated for that debate were virtually all things that ‘Biden’s team’ had demanded. Trump agreed to them, anyway, and the terms were set.

Well, Biden has dropped out of the race. He’s no longer the candidate- and his terms for ‘his debate’ no longer apply. And both sides seemed to agree to that at recently as two weeks ago-when the coronation of Kamala Harris began.

And so, okay, the two teams have been talking behind the scenes about setting debates for two weeks, allegedly. As part of that- trump’s team agrees to an offer from Fox news on September fourth- which Kamala Harris refuses.

Let’s be clear: the offer to debate was made-by Fox. Trump’s team says ‘yes’. Kamala’s team says ‘no’. How is that trump ‘ducking out of debates.

Further- the predicate Harris’ team uses to refuse the fox debate is- but- one is already scheduled for ABC on Sept tenth, Trump’s got to honor that one before Kammy agrees to any other ones.

What?

So-Harris is the one to refuse the new debate offer-then pivots to ‘first, you got to honor your commitments on Sept 10th on ABC, then we’ll see. Maybe we’ll debate more after that.

I hope you see the slippery dishonesty here, and what’s really happening is the Harris team doesn’t want her on-stage for an hour ‘unscripted’, and so they are refusing to debate, and yet pretending that ‘someone else’s commitment to debated. Is theirs or is still valid.

As a flood of people pointed out on social media: if this is the case, then Kamala Harris needs to honor her commitment to debate JD Vance on fox that she agreed to.

Buy. But...that’s a vice presidential debate...the dems said. Kamala’s the presidential nominee now.

Yep. The conditions changed. But you are insisting trump needs to honor his commitment after conditions changed. You need to honor yours: you agreed to debate JD Vance. You got to do that now.

See how childish all of this is?

For the record-I believe Trump and Vance’s teams should continually insist that Harris needs to keep her commitment to debate Vance. I’d absolutely say: fine-you debate JD Vance as you said you would...then trump will debate you on September tenth under the rules that Biden agreed to.

That’s how I’d handle this: I’d make Kamala Harris debate both men.

And no, Kammy can’t pick a VP nominee this week and then put him up against Vance. No. Kamala agreed to debate JD Vance. I’d love to see that debate.    The trump team needs to -insist- that debate occur and the sooner the better.

This is another thing that the dems can only get away with-because they immediately had their MSM accomplices portraying this as ‘Trump won’t debate’.

But wait- he’s the one who accepted fox’s invite. Kamala Harris is the one who didn’t.

Both campaigns didn’t agree to the September Tenth debate. The Trump and Biden campaigns did. This is now a Trump and Harris election.

Now, stupidly, Donald Trump reacted by doubling down on September fourth and saying- if she won’t accept that debate, we won’t debate at all’.

I assume that will change-but that was probably the dumbest retort trump could have had.

Instead-it should have been: i will debate you once a week between now and election day if you’d like, Kamala: lets meet in Detroit next week.

Trump should be looking to find as many opportunities as possible to get Kamala Harris out away from the podium and the teleprompter-and talking off the top of her head-

The only way the voters who are likely to decide this election will ever see the ‘real’ Kamala Harris, with all of her word salads and lack of knowledge- is if trump and the gop find ways to get her into those situations.

It's been a full two weeks since her coronation and this woman still hasn’t done a single news conference or sit-down news interview. She hasn’t committed to a single ‘town hall’ on any of the networks.

Every insider in dc knows what the plan is to get Kamala Harris elected: just give teleprompter speeches and avoid every other situation.

Why would trump be trying to eliminate or erase the number of debates they’ll have?

He should be challenging her to a debate each week between now and November.

And he should-because her team’s response to this Fox offer shows just how unfit for office she is-and just how scared her handlers around her- are for the rest of us- to see the real kamala.

This Biden campaign machine that Harris ‘inherited’ is so terrified to put her in any- any- instance in which she might have to talk intelligently and coherently on her own-that they even refused the invite to sit down with the national association of black journalists last week.

That’s pathetic, because she’s never going to get a more willing room full of accomplices than that, correct?

And so-imagine the ‘behind the scenes’ conversation going on-before the Harris campaign said ‘no’.

It’s a room full of liberal black journalists who are going to shower her in praise and toss her softball questions...what’s not to love?

I know, i know...but...kamala has shown she can’t get thru an event without saying something stupid....i don’t like it.

Well-if we aren’t going to say yes to this, we aren’t going to say yes to anything, phil. My god, we’re going to have to put her out there at some point.

No. No, mark. We can’t. Don’t you get it? One word salad or one cackle, and this campaign will be over. You know if she gets comfortable with that crowd of black. Reporters she’ll be cackling and talking in her fake ebonics, again...

No. No. We can’t risk it.

You’re right...you’re right. I guess we can’t risk it.

To have the Kamala Harris campaign be the ones to pretend that Donald Trump is the one who’s afraid of being in front of the nation without a net- and afraid of debating-is rich.

It’s yet another example of how-when the dems are accusing someone else of something- they are really reflecting their own behaviors and weaknesses.

This is another classic example: who’s afraid to debate?

Probably the gal who’s afraid to take even a few questions from the reporters covering her campaign and who has refused all offers to do sit down interviews or town halls.

She’s probably the one who’s afraid to debate. Yeah.
