Hey- the presidential debate Thursday-will-be carried here on WISN- with some ‘pre’ and ‘post’ game from Fox.
CNN came to a ‘late’ decision to allow others to broadcast this, after all, and so, WISN will be carrying it.
And normally, presidential debates don’t mean all that much-truth be told.
The truth is-most of that ‘the candidates said’ is going to be ignored or lost-to-history immediately. The only thing that will really matter is ‘quips’, ‘good one-liners’, or those sorts of ‘history making moments’ that amount to a ‘good burn’ from one guy against the other...or if one of them makes a goofy gesture or verbal gaffe.
And that is-absolutely-going to be the case for this debate on Thursday.
In terms of substance- president Trump should take Governor Scott Walker’s advice and virtually ignore Joe Biden and what he’s saying and instead -speak directly to the camera and the American people when it comes to his policies and how he’s going to ‘right the country’ after four disastrous years of Biden.
And if he does that- while Joe Biden stumbles and flags and flounders- trump will win the debate and will be seen as the more competent leader with the better ideas.
And face it: if Trump wins-it will quickly be forgotten and probably won’t give him much of a bump in the polls and... like most presidential debates...it quickly ‘won’t matter’.
The stakes for Joe Biden and the democrats are much higher. And they know it. Listen to the ‘take’ this weekend on MSNBC:
That’s one of the few ‘correct’ things that’s been uttered on an MSNBC set-in months: if Joe Biden has a senior moment or is seen as flagging and faltering and halting and mumbling...over the course of this 90 minutes- it could decide the election.
Elise Jordan, there, in that clip- said that ‘even democrat voters’ are going to be watching for signs that Biden is really up to this job, anymore. As in: they want to vote for him again but have doubts.
Why do you think the Biden team has canceled all events this week-and feels as if they need-five days- five days- to prep the president for this debate?
Folks-in a normal situation-any other president in history-has gone on with the daily routine of running the country-and has simply had to work in a few hours of debate prep around that schedule.
But that’s okay: the guy’s ‘actively being’ president. He’s up on the issues. He’s basically ‘ready to go’ because he’s ‘sitting in the oval’.
That’s the case for any normal president.
Not Biden.
This is a man who has so little energy that they try to work him between ten and four and do one event a day. So, they’ve had to clear Biden’s schedule for five days to prep.
Trump’s still out on the stump. He’s going events all week. He’ll be ready to tangle with joe on Thursday, regardless. You know trump’s basically ‘ready to go’ also.
Biden’s not.
This weekend, trump held a rally in a very predominantly ‘African American’ part of Philly, to appeal to the sort of black ‘swing’ voters who could put him over the top in that state-
And this was Trump’s take on Biden-for Thursday:
And you know that Biden’s accomplices in the left-wing media are going to spin -whatever performance he gives-
No matter how terrible-
They are going to spin it as a ‘win’...or as him ‘holding his own’. But the ‘tune in’ by the American people is likely to be huge- just based on curiosity.
Curiosity alone, as Americans tune in to see how ‘bad’ Biden has gotten and how elderly he looks, is going to guarantee a massive audience. And people who will be seeing it ‘themselves’ and ‘live’ won’t be easily spun.
It's why- over on CNN- Van Jones was saying: the entire election -for joe Biden-hinges on this debate.

As it is- the Biden camp lobbied for weeks to have the candidates ‘seated’ so that joe doesn’t have to stand for 90 minutes.
That, in and of itself, suggests weakness.
The microphones will be muted except when it’s the candidate’s turn to speak, and i see that as actually helping trump- because if he has the discipline to simply let joe ramble, viewers are bound to see the senility.
Still-the bar has been set so low for Biden that all he needs to do is show up and not topple over under the lights...or wander away from the podium and into the stage curtains....and he’ll be applauded as the winner.
But trust me: these democrats know the true stakes here- for Biden.
The stakes are lower for trump. If he doesn’t make any major gaffes, but also doesn’t have a great debate-
Or if Biden’s cocktail of drugs is mixed properly and he comes off better than expected-well then- i wouldn’t expect any shift in the race-either way.
I really wouldn’t.
Heck, i don’t see a ‘better than expected’ performance from Biden to help him at all, either. I really don’t. The basics of this race have been locked in for a year now.
The only ‘significant affect’ that i see coming out of this debate-at all-is if Biden has a senior moment, or is, in general, so old and out of it that he proves it’s time for him to move on.
That’s the only thing that shifts this race significantly.
I’m hoping that trump can get off a quip or a one-liner that ‘stings’ Biden because it hits so close to home- without coming off as mean-
Probably something related to -regardless of age-you sure have bleeped up this country.
Because i line like that could-also- help cement a win for trump...
But...it’s shameful how the so-called news media has been working overtime to protect joe Biden and the democrats.
This display last week-in which every major news organization leapt to try to explain away Obama needing to lead joe off-stage at that Hollywood fundraiser- was legitimately a ‘new low’ in media propaganda.
I’m ashamed to say i was ever ‘a journalist’, seeing how the members of that profession now act. Their attempt to cover for Biden’s ‘freezes’ and ‘senior moments’ is a whole new level of engaging in propaganda for ‘their party’.
The white house ludicrously invents a lie that will cover all of Joe’s on-camera failings by claiming they are ‘deep fake videos’- i mean-how insulting is that to our intelligence-
And every lefty media outlet ‘goes with it’. They knew their marching orders and spent three days talking about ‘cheap fakes’.
And anyone with a brain can watch the videos and see for themselves that they are real. There are no breaks or edits. No jump cuts.
Joe Biden had embarrassing incidents at the D-day celebration, the Juneteenth day event, the G7 summit, and now at this Hollywood fundraiser. All fell within about a three-week period. All were real. And the American people know it.
And rather than practice actual journalism, the legacy media outlets all go into protectionist propaganda mode and decide they are going to ‘play their part’ in trying to get joe Biden re-elected.
Shameful. Genuinely shameful.
The media gaslighting on Biden’s mental decline-is 2024s version of the hunter Biden laptop.
Four years ago-the entire leftist and deep state machine in this country had to get together to gaslight and manipulate the public as they frantically tried to cover up the hunter Biden laptop scandal.
This year- they’re all pulling together to do the same thing with Biden’s mental and physical decline.
These reporters know that the White House staff now forms a wall of people between Biden and the cameras as he walks to marine one-over the white house lawn.
All these reporters know how far ‘gone’ Biden is. And instead of being honest about it to the American people, they are participating in the cover-up.
