I did an earlier segment in which I was questioning the wisdom of nominating Donald trump in 2024, again.
It simply makes no sense to me...and I’m not going to pretend it does.
Just-logistically- it doesn’t make any sense- when he can’t serve 8 years and won’t have the time to correct the country or undo 4 years of Biden’s damage-even if he does win.
I firmly believe that -after four awful years of Joe Biden showing voters the ugly, socialist nature of things to come if they keep voting democrat-
We will have a chance to launch another good run of conservatism here, in America, with the right candidate. And if for no other reason-logistically- trump isn’t that candidate.
Moreover, if he’s the nominee-the entire election is about ‘trump’, not Biden or his record. And that is precisely what the democrats want to see happen.
But- that doesn’t mean Donald Trump isn’t still making some good points and being critical of America under Biden as he goes about campaigning.
He is- and as if to prove my point-none of it is being reported or focused on. Only the negative and controversial stuff is.
For example- on Sunday-president trump made a great point-and hit on a great new theme for himself and the party-during his speech in Michigan.
And since I didn’t see the speech, I never would have heard about this if someone at the Washington Times wouldn’t have done a column on it.
But- in that speech in Michigan- president Trump attacked Biden and the democrat’s green energy extremism for threatening the American auto industry and threatening great paying American jobs.
Currently- polls show that trump and Biden are tied in a general election match up. Recent swing state polls show Trump still losing to Biden in Arizona, Georgia, and Pennsylvania, but they are tied in Michigan- and the one other swing state that is likely to decide the election- ours- we haven’t seen any recent polling on.
But Trump is right to hammer on this theme. It’s a ‘Trump original’, so far as I can tell-and he’s dead on when he said: sadly, no one has betrayed Michigan more than crooked Joe Biden’.
That’s campaign rhetoric and a campaign issue that could move voters in these rust belt swing states that rely on manufacturing and a blue collar- perusable-voting base.
Folks- Trump gave this speech on Sunday. By Tuesday, ford was announcing a thousand more layoffs. And why? To cut costs and cover losses associated with their EV push.
Ten to twenty thousand auto workers are going to be losing their jobs this year-thanks to Joe Biden’s brutal new push for EVs.
It’s another good time to urge -even union members in the audience to stop voting democrat. They’re screwing you, too, at every turn.
Meanwhile-how fun is the news that president Biden and his team are going to tout the economy as his greatest accomplishment in his 2024
Re-election bid.
Say what, now?
Joe Biden wants credit for this clunky, dysfunctional, inflation battered economy and he and his team are certain that they can convince voters he has been atop a great effort to ‘save’ and ‘strengthen’ this economy, post-covid.
And that’s idiocy, of course. It was an awesome economy by every single government and private sector measurement under Donald Trump- and even after he felt he had to flip the switch and kill off our economic growth to combat covid-he and his economic team had the economy and the jobs market bouncing back strongly before he left office in January of 2021.
Every prediction out of economists said the economy was ready to sing -at an astounding seven percent growth rate in 2021- and my god-this was going to be so great that the good times would spill over into 2022 and 23- they predicted 4 or 5 percent GDP growth in 2022-and still- 3.5 percent in 2023- years removed from this covid crisis.
President trump, Larry Kudlow, and his team-genuinely had- a massive economic boom on the horizon for this country and everyone of importance knew it-
And then Biden, Pelosi and Schumer took over and killed it all off. Intentionally. With forethought and against all warnings. Killed it off by insisting on spending two trillion dollars of our grandchildren’s’ money on nonsense and fake stimulus handouts that no one needed.
What a catastrophe.
That, of course, touched off an economic downturn. Falling markets. 401ks slashed by 25 percent. An overall-fifteen percent inflation-and still climbing- mortgage and car loan interest rates that are so high they are pricing all the people on the lower rungs and all of the young kids starting out- out of the housing market.
We still have a historically low labor participation rate, which is why service is so crummy everywhere you go-and people are getting fed up with it-
This is all on Biden.
And this? Is the economy he and his team want to ‘own’ and run on?
I know what sorts of things the cloistered leftists keep pointing to as Biden wins. Things like trillions in green energy spending. More forced regulations. That super-sexy ‘infrastructure spending’ that no one cares about.
None of these were wins. The so-called inflation reduction act did nothing than raise taxes, spend hundreds of billions of dollars on bogus green energy commitments-and cause more inflation.
A recent analysis by the CBO just confirmed that: the inflation reduction act didn’t have any positive effect on inflation, and the additional govt spending may have made it worse.
There are no ‘wins’ here...moreover- the things that these democrats keep insisting are so popular with the American people- aren’t.
Here’s the reality: nothing is more infuriating than having -other people- tell you that you are doing great-when you’re not.
And this is what Biden’s strategy amounts to: it will be he and the democrats insisting that-against all evidence you have and against the smaller totals in your bank account and your 401k-and against the proof of gas and grocery prices still rising and your paycheck not stretching as far-
The dems are going to insist-against all that evidence that you are doing great. Thank Joe Biden for it.
Does that would like it’s going to encourage the American people? Or infuriate them?
Go on. Go on, people. Thank president Biden because you’re doing so well. He’s waiting for a thank you....
He’s more likely to get an ‘f-you’ out of three-quarters of the voters in this country.
His painted tart of a spokeswoman this week- Karine Jean Pierre- tried her best to bash supply side economics, which we know work and were used to give us that great trump economy-
And instead tried to insist that Biden’s economy was better. More equitable. But bless her heart, she just isn’t smart enough to pull it off.
Do you know whose economies weren’t leaving anybody behind?
Trumps and Reagans. Honestly. Genuinely. There are two presidents of the last 60 years whose economic policies were genuinely-stellar- and meant bigger paychecks and benefits and more opportunities than ever for everyone-but most especially-the people on the lower rungs.
Check the govt’s own data: trump’s economy was boosting the wages of those on the bottom-the most. Blacks, Hispanics, women, high school dropouts-
Name a demographic that is historically ‘screwed ‘and on the lowest economic rungs and then check the govts own data: trump’s economy had those groups in the best situation-and the best condition-since Reagan.
The stats and data from that time-and over time- bear it out. They are the proof. They are the truth. Everything else is crap.
Karine jean Pierre’s nonsense and Joe Biden’s new strategy- is crap. Its’ all gaslighting and dishonesty. And they know it.
