My exclusive interview with Tim Michel’s, yesterday morning, as he entered the governor’s race, drew far more attention than I expected it to...
And it might have -simply because we have so few local, in-state, reporters, anymore. To the point that this year’s primary races are getting very little attention. Even from the newspapers. Patrick Marley and Molly Beck can only be expected to write so many stories in the attempt to keep the journal/sentinel afloat. Even the biggest newspaper in the state is now down to a barebones staff and using mostly stringer sources and gannet material. And the local tv stations, for their part, never did cover politics well: trotting out Kent Wainscott to do a package occasionally on a political race.... isn’t ‘covering politics’...and having your anchors try to read returns on election night and discovering that they cannot even pronounce the names of some of the candidates- is embarrassing.
So tv stations aren’t going to cover these races.
It leaves talk radio.
A lawmaker asked me yesterday: why aren’t I seeing any coverage of the democrat’s senate primary? After all, there are something like nine candidates in it-
This is the race to take on Ron Johnson-and it’s a good question: why has there been so little coverage of this race, or the candidates?
And the answer is-because ‘conservative’ talk radio is largely focused on the GOP primaries-as we select our candidates- and there are no reporters on the left to properly cover it.
Again- I’m going to give Molly Beck and Patrick Marley some ‘cover’ here and suggest that they can only be expected to write ‘so many’ stories and cover ‘so much’ of the state capitol and political beat.
And they-have-written a few stories about this race, over the past few months, as has Daniel Bice.
In fact, Bice has exposed several of the democrat candidates’ clear hypocrisies. He’s outed Mandela Barnes as being in favor of ‘abolishing ice’ and ‘defunding the police’ when it was vogue but is now denying it and pretending as if he’s against President Biden’s open borders.
Yesterday- Bice’s story proved once again that-to be a democrat-is to be a hypocrite- as he wrote about how Alex Lasry and Sarah Godlewski pretend to be big ‘pro-union’, ‘pro-labor’ advocates, but own Amazon, Walmart, and Uber stock. Three companies who have relentlessly and famously fought off union efforts.
Bice writes:
In the U.S. Senate race, Democratic candidate Alex Lasry has tried to establish himself as Mr. Labor.
Lasry has released a campaign policy paper on supporting unions and run a TV ad touting his support from labor groups. He lists increasing the minimum wage and making it easier to unionize among key planks in his campaign platform.
Earlier this month, he even blasted Amazon on Twitter for opposing workers' efforts to create a union.
"BREAKING: It’s official, we have the 1st unionized Amazon warehouse in the country! Despite Amazon management's extreme union-busting efforts, @AmazonLabor has prevailed," Lasry wrote. "The American labor movement is just getting started — One down & many more to go."
What Lasry didn't say in any of this is that he owns substantial stock in Amazon and two other companies accused of thwarting worker rights — Walmart and Uber.
Bice also mentions that Tom Nelson and Mandela Barnes-also- own stock in amazon ..but it is part of the mutual funds their pension managers hold. I’ll give them a break on that-because most of us have no idea what individual stocks each one of our mutual funds includes. Much less- a pension system. Most pensioned employees couldn’t care less which companies the pension fund is invested in-they only want to know that money will be there for them when they retire.
And so- it’s silly to call Mandela Barnes or tom nelson ‘hypocrites’ for having amazon stock in their professionally managed pensions.
They are hypocrites for other reasons-
But when it comes to Lasry and Godlewski- it’s a ‘good get’ by bice: once again, we’ve got arrogant, monied, democrat candidates assuming that voters are so dumb that they can get away with such hypocrisies.
Even the excuse, or reasoning, that Bice offers as to why they still hold the stock: because amazon and Walmart have been great performers- is not a legitimate reason if they are ‘true believers’ in the union cause, correct?
The whole point of this left-wing activism is that some things are more important than money-
No-
Most of their causes-are more important than money. Conservatives are dumping Disney stock right now. Conservative investors refuse to invest in marijuana operations.
‘People of conscience’ have been encouraged to divest themselves of any stock in....tobacco companies. Condom or birth control companies. Gun and ammo companies...right?
And it didn’t matter how well the companies were doing- the mere investment was a moral or ethical ‘wrong’.
Such is the case with Amazon, Walmart, Uber, and any other company that is fighting unionization and a ‘fair wage’ for these leftists’ ‘brothers and sisters’ toiling in terrible working conditions.
If today’s democrat voters really believe all of the garbage that their activist groups shovel-then this should be a disqualifier for both the Lasry and Godlewski campaigns. They are closeted union haters and hypocrites who should end their campaigns now...
Right?
But here’s the impossible problem for the democrat party: if they get rid of the hypocrites-no one’s left to run for office.
If they purify this race by pushing out Lasry and Godlewski...then Mandela’s got to go for his open betrayal of the ‘defund the police’ and ‘open borders’ movements...in a pathetic attempt to get elected.
And I can’t go thru all the no-name candidates who are also in this race, but all you need to do is scratch the surface of a democrat-and you can find the hypocrisy...
And there actually-is- a reason why.
There-is- a reason that most democrats are hypocrites: its’ because they are all agreeing to buy into an often radical and ludicrous set of values or standards.Today’s democrats have-a platform-that is impossible to follow-even if you want to be an uber-leftist in good standing.
If you don’t pretend that men can give birth and women can have penises...you’re a hypocrite. If you don’t remember everyone’s preferred pronouns and -never slip up- you’re a hypocrite.
Electra here. says...they...would like to show us her.... damn. Show us...their...artwork. She...dame. They...drew a poster of ...their... non-binary spirit animal...
If you don’t buy into that-you’re not a good leftist.
If you don’t think that every job deserves to pay 25 dollars an hour- (no, no. It used to be fifteen. Now it’s’ 25)-
If you don’t believe every job -no matter how menial-should pay 25 dollars an hour and have union representation-you are a hypocritical leftist.
If you don’t believe we should have open borders for all of the globe’s sad-sack cases to flood in here- you are a hypocritical leftist.
If you think Dave Chapelle is funny, or Joe Rogan’s podcast is entertaining, you’d better keep those a ‘guilty pleasure’, because you’re a hypocritical leftist.
This! Is why-to be a democrat-is to be a hypocrite. To be liberal. To be a socialist. To be an antifa or BLM member. To be a left-wing activist- is to be hypocrite.
None of them can live up to their own impossible standards, and they only have them because they are preening dillweed’s and victim seekers who can’t cope with real life.
And today’s democrat party leaders let them sweep in and take over the party- so- this is the democrat party now.
A bunch of bullying hypocrites, virtue signalers, and victim seekers who violate nearly all their own rules routinely...but expect you to take them seriously and cave to their bull crap.
