Let’s talk about Elon Musk’s attempt to take over twitter in the name of free speech.
I want to start with a cut from Steve Forbes. Who was on Fox news...and was asked whether he thinks Elon Musk is going to be able to win in his takeover attempt of Twitter?

It’s encouraging to hear that come out of Steve Forbes’s mouth, after the twitter board of directors used the ‘poisoned pill’ on Musk’s offer.
But Musk said he had a ‘plan b’, and it is apparently to get other major investors to join him in a corporate takeover if the SEC rules only allow him to have a fifteen percent share in the company.
Meanwhile- the world got this major revelation over the weekend: that, aside from Twitters’ founder, Jack Dorsey- the members of the twitter board of directors have virtually-no shares-of it.
It also explains their motivations and why they are trying to desperately to fight off musk: they have no interest in twitter as a profitable investment. Their sole interest in it is- as an organizing organ for the left.
This amounts to ‘game, set, and match’ when it comes to explaining the board’s motivations. And they are now going to have to explain to the investors why they-refuse-to take a generous deal.
They are denying the shareholders the significant profits they would have seen by selling outright-to musk.
So, this isn’t over.
There’s also a wonderful little piece of audio from Friday’s ‘Morning Joe’ show on MSNBC.
No one except DC and NY insiders watch the show, and so, it takes a few days for whatever is said on MSNBC to reach the rest of us.
Friday morning, Joe and Mika and their gaggle of hangers-on were sitting around the table, analyzing Musk’s move, and the company’s ‘poison pill’ response....
And mike Brzezinski ‘said the quiet part loud’.
She admitted that they think it is the MSM’s job to tell people what to think:
I initially saw this pop up on my twitter feed, and because it was Easter weekend, I was trying to ignore work, and so, when I saw the slug line, I didn’t listen to the audio.
I thought the conservatives sharing the video were exaggerating or paraphrasing what mike said.
Nope. It’s a verbatim quote-and man-it is embarrassing:
Wow.
But this is the way these elite, east coast media members view themselves. Nearly all of them come from a life of privilege, to begin with, as Mika does...
And so, I suppose if daddy goes out and makes them get a job- they see themselves as ‘doing the rest of us a great service’...by telling us what-and how-to think.
But that belief-is- what is at the heart of this panic over Elon Musk buying twitter and making it known that he is- to restore the rules of ‘free speech’.
As Tucker Carlson says, censorship and propaganda-are-at the very heart of this neoliberalism- and so -if ‘free speech’ breaks out on one of their most important platforms-it could break out on all of them.
Tucker calls it ‘neo-liberalism’, but I call it ‘socialism’ or ‘social progressivism’ because they are better descriptions. There is nothing ‘liberal’ about today’s left and who they have calling the shots.
This is-not- old school, 20th century liberalism on the left, and people like Bill Mahr and James Carville prove it.
They are, increasingly, hostile to their own party due to how ‘illiberal’ it has become.
But this is what has todays left so rattled about Elon Musk buying twitter. If lefty Jeff Bezos or ‘lefty messiah’ bill gates were buying it, they’d have no problem with the sale, at all.
Folks-these leftists aren’t alarmed that Tik-Tok is owned by the Chi-Coms.
But, Elon Musk’s ownership threatens to take away a ‘rigged game’ on social media that the left has spent years ‘rigging’.
Some of the talking heads last week shocked me, as they made it clear that they believe ‘freedom of speech’ is a menace to America, not an asset.
And yes, it was people like Mika, and Katy Tur, Brian Stelter and Chris Hayes....but they still shocked me.
Of course, they are all left-wing pundits and we’ve known it forever-but they -are also-all Americans. And they claim to want to ‘defend democracy’ and ‘defend constitutional righty’. With incredible regularity.
So, to hear so many of them express the notion that one of America’s most important and indelible freedoms was -not-? Something that they supported. Was shocking....
But what we were seeing was closeted leftists-in their rage – revealing more of who they really are, and what they believe.
To say-on major media outlets- America should not have free speech forums - is crazy. And that opinion should shock everyone.
And so, explain it as ‘open forums are dangerous’ as Katy Tur and Brian Stelter have done- is nuts. It’s the stuff of totalitarian dictators.
It really is.
These are opinions that Fidel Castro and Joseph Stalin held: that unregulated speech was dangerous.
And here-in 21st century America-we’ve got American journalists saying it in response to Elon Musk buying twitter.
That’ shocking.
So-the ‘good leftists’ in America need to be the ones controlling all content. Come on.
But this is how they talk!
What they are -really-terrified of-is the opposite happening. My god, what happens to all of the clamps and levers and dark blankets that they have worked to shackle this country with-if a new era of free speech and questioning government breaks out?
It is why democrats who were-initially-so worried about the power of the big tech companies, back in the Clinton era, are now so happy to have them as powerful censors.
Remember when democrats worried about how powerful Microsoft and Google and Facebook were getting?
And then they got the owners of those companies to take a vow of fealty to the left, and suddenly, that ‘big tech’ wasn’t such a bad thing, right?
If they could bully, or guilt, Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg into making huge donations to democrats and using their platforms for ‘woke’ causes, then, why not?
Maybe big tech companies weren’t such a problem, after all.
Squats with unions is the only lefty who i still hear squawking about them.
It’s why they felt so betrayed when Facebook was used to help get trump elected, and what had Zuckerberg have to do a ‘mea-culpa’ to help Biden and the dems buy the next election.
Zuckerberg did not-help- Trump get elected. He’s a rabid lefty.
But the users of his platform did, and the left could not stand all the ‘free speech’ and ‘rabble rousing’ and ‘political organizing’ that went on there, in 2016. But Zuckerberg is back on the ‘right side’ now. .so, all is forgiven.
