Or is it only ‘everyone who works in the NY media’?
I love the details of long-time media hotshot-and longtime scumbag- Jeff Zucker being forced to resign from CNN.
Apparently, running two major media operations into the ground isn’t something that will get you fired, but not reporting a consensual (and extramarital) affair at work, will.
This is what Jeff Zucker down. And the person who ‘brought him down’, is fellow scumbag Chris Cuomo.
It turns out that Zucker is only being forced to resign because Chris Cuomo’s lawyers are using Zucker’s affair in Cuomo’s legal action against the company-for Cuomo’s firing-over his! -piggish behavior.
Nice.
It sounds like Zucker’s affair with a fellow executive was an open-secret at CNN, so when Cuomo sued to get the rest of his contract paid out to him, he told his lawyers about Zucker’s on-going affair-
Which went unreported to the HR department at CNN. And so, Zucker tried to use the ‘HR snafu’ as the reason he’s resigning:
So, the scandal is far more than just ‘I didn’t report it’.
Zucker was having an extra-marital affair with a woman who had her own conflict of interest-working at CNN while giving the governor of the state advice on his public scandals...
Which was the very thing that had Zucker ultimately firing Chris Cuomo -for his role in helping his ‘governor’ brother fight off his sexual harassment scandal.
It’s a tangled web of piggish behavior and scumbaggery, my friends.
And by the way- the chick who had no problem cheating on Zucker’s wife, with Zucker, and who had a huge conflict of interest with gov Cuomo- gets to keep her job.
The NY Post says female staffers at CNN are furious over this:
Zucker is finally getting his comeuppance. He’s a far-left extremist who pretends to run ‘news’ operations and has been responsible for destroying. Destroying. CNN’s product, and CNN’s credibility.
Speaking of ‘quits’....
I would love to see Whoppi quit the view in a huff.
This is the latest twist in a two-week suspension by ABC, for daring to show her ignorance on the holocaust on-air.
I am not a fan of censoring or punishing members of the media for the stupid things they say, nor are most conservatives. All we want is a level playing field-
And so- some on the right are saying Whoopi needs to be fired-out of the sense that: we need to force the leftists to play by their own rules.
I certainly understand that position.
But again-most conservatives are trying to make the point that, no, we don’t want Whoopi fired, because we think this woke-jihad against free speech and independent thought is insane. And it needs to end.
And so, once again, it is largely the left wing woke activists who are insisting whoopie needed to be punished or fired for her mistake-
And it is largely we, on the right, who are saying, no don’t cancel her for saying something stupid. We must stop canceling or punishing people for every minor infraction.
And so, I love to hear that Goldberg is talking about quitting the view over this, because, despite the fact that she quickly apologized and admitted her ignorance on the matter- ABC execs didn’t even try to defend her, and just went along with the woke mob and slapped a suspension on her.
and by the way-that move -satisfies no one. Because if she really said something terrible, fire her, and if she didn’t, consider the apology enough
It was diamond and silk who were listing women who had their careers destroyed over one stupid comment on twitter. They stated: Rosanne Barr, Sharon Osbourne, and Megyn Kelly all made public apologies. Unfortunately, they weren’t allowed to keep their jobs. They were never given a teachable moment. They were all fired.
Yep.
And so, if ABC is going to play by their own rules, Goldberg should be fired.
But her situation helps to illustrate how stupid and stifling and anti-American the rules of today’s bullying left really are.
Whoopie’s popular. She’s brought a lot of viewers and value to that show, even if you don’t like her politics. She’s never struck me as an extreme left winger, or a moron, like Joy Behar.
Her comments are normally more measured and thoughtful. You’re going to fire her over one display of ignorance?
All Whoopi did, my friends, was say something stupid in public. Something she and her co-hosts have-certainly-done before.
The only difference this time is that the topic was ‘the holocaust’. A touchy subject that ‘triggers’ all sorts of people.
It turns out Goldberg has a huge gap in her education, or base of knowledge, when it comes to the holocaust. She clearly had no idea what she was talking about. Hitler and the fascists viewed themselves as the master race, and the Jews as an inferior, dirty, race that needed to be eliminated.
Hitler-and the world- viewed it, talked about it, wrote about it, cataloged it, in racial terms.
It-was-about race.
But Whoopi, because she sees race as skin color only, said ‘that wasn’t about race.’
Really dumb.
But she apologized when her own ignorance was pointed out. Went out of her way to have a person from the anti-defamation league on the show to publicly correct her and her incorrect take.
That should be enough. It really should.
Because- it was a mistake-and the apology was sincere.
And so, like virtually all these campaigns by the left-wing speech police to punish or cancel anyone who ‘triggers them’
Everyone has the ‘right to be wrong’. And if you do a job in front of a camera or microphone long enough-you’re going to say something stupid, or confusing, or say something that is taken the wrong way.
People must have the ‘right to make a mistake’ and the ‘right to be wrong’ on occasion. Censoring or silencing them is foolish and anti-American.
A lot of people are pointing out that mistakes like Whoopi’s should be taken as a ‘teachable moment’. They’d be a good chance for the ‘tolerant left’ to walk their ignorant masses thru the history of the holocaust and what whoopie got wrong.
Nope. Instead, their reflexive action is shut that person up. Ruin their life. Cancel them.
According to a recent poll, 63 percent of America’s young adults don’t know that six million jews died in the holocaust.
That’s one of the most basic and lasting ‘facts’ surrounding it.
If we really aren’t teaching new generations about it, we should be. Whoopi isn’t the only one with that ‘gap in her education’.
So, turn her screw up into something productive.
She, in fact, tried to do that.
ABC suspended her, anyway.
As one conservative pundit asked: why inflict punishment on a person for failing to understand something?
Yeah. It’s dumb. And whether she’s right or not, Goldberg, and all Americans, have the right to express their views. And the left’s cry bullying campaign to silence and cancel everyone does not serve the cause of freedom, or truth, or fit with American values.
