Another J/S hit piece on both Ron Johnson and Rebecca Kleefisch

Jay Weber Show transcript 1-25-22 7:10am

If you are just joining us- last half hour I was talking about the propagandist ‘cover’ that the Journal Sentinel editors are already giving the democrat candidates in fall.

And how the J/S shouldn’t even call itself a newspaper, anymore. The editors have such a clear left-wing bias that it pervades their coverage, and daily.

Just as they did with Scott Walker- George Stanley now has reporters inventing new realities, and inventing hit pieces on republicans they don’t like.

Yesterday they did hit pieces on both Ron Johnson and Rebecca Kleefisch.

I didn’t get a chance to talk about this yesterday, but I hit it on social media: yesterday’s j/s story on Johnson was-highly-dishonest.

It was Bill Glauber pretending as if Gov. Tony Evers and Mandella Barnes-didn’t-incite or encourage the Kenosha protests-when they clearly did.

It wasn’t overt: burn Kenosha to the ground, sort of order. But how Evers and Barnes reacted-clearly- expressed their support for the rioters and their statements-clearly- smeared police officers-

And they both-clearly-suggested that they were with the rioters in spirit. Go ahead and burn it all. We are with you in spirit.

I’ll get to their statements in a moment-but the j/s wrote a story trying to smear Ron Johnson as saying something wrong, inaccurate, or outrageous, when he suggested in a recent interview that Evers and Barnes incited rioters in Kenosha.

‘incite’ means to encourage or stir up. Nothing more. It does not mean ‘start’. Tony Evers didn’t move them to ‘start’ the rioting.

The rioting was already underway when he issued his statement, which makes his statement all-the-worse.

Kenosha was already seeing rioting and burning when Evers-instead of calling for calm. Instead of calling for law and order. Instead of simply saying, ‘ i understand your frustration but burning a city wrong’.

Instead- Evers put out a statement that said: I’m with you in spirit- rioters. Of course, this case a sign of encouragement. Incitement.

Here’s the complete statement, so I can’t be accused of deceptive editing:

Quote...

Tonight, Jacob Blake was shot in the back multiple times, in broad daylight, in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Kathy and i join his family, friends, and neighbors in hoping earnestly that he will not succumb to his injuries. While we do not have all of the details yet, what we know for certain is that he is not the first black man or person to have been shot or injured or mercilessly killed at the hands of individuals in law enforcement in our state or our country.

We stand with all those who have and continue to demand justice, equity, and accountability for black lives in our country—lives like those of George Floyd, of Breonna Taylor, Tony Robinson, Dontre Hamilton, Ernest Lacy, and Sayville smith. And we stand against excessive use of force and immediate escalation when engaging with black Wisconsinites.

I have said all along that although we must offer our empathy, equally important is our action. In the coming days, we will demand just that of elected officials in our state who have failed to recognize the racism in our state and our country for far too long.

That’s it. That is the entire statement-and the entire action-that tony Evers took on the first night of the Kenosha riots.

He didn’t call for calm. He couldn’t be bothered to appear on camera. He was in bed for the night. He let Kenosha burn. Even encouraged it.

Nowhere in Evers’ statement does he call for calm or non-violent protest. Nowhere does he say- Josh Kaul will investigate the shooting and we’ll get justice-within the system. Nothing.

Tony Evers- fanned the flames-of the Kenosha riots, and it wasn’t until the next day that he even thought about ordering out a few measly guardsmen and ordered them to do nothing the second night. And after even more burning and rioting-then called out a few more.

Evers-like all democrat leaders at the time-were giving BLM and antifa all sorts of room and free reign to riot. And Evers allowed them to go crazy in Kenosha’s streets if he thought he could, politically, before pulling them back.

And when he pulled them back-it was gently.

As for Mandela Barnes-he spent days firing up activists, even after that first night of rioting.

The next morning, Barnes tweeted, “last night, Jacob Blake was shot in the back seven times in front of his children. This wasn’t an accident. The officer’s deadly actions attempted to take a person’s life in broad daylight. Like many of you, the video is burned into my mind like all the past videos just like it.”

Does that sound like calming rhetoric and a local leader calling for calm to you? Does it sound like a leader calling for ‘peaceful, orderly’ justice to you?

No.

And the leftist rag ‘the nation’ even profiled Barnes later, saying, quote: in the days that followed, Barnes was on the streets in Kenosha and on tv screens nationwide calling for a reckoning with issues that have for too long gone unaddressed.

Yep.

Oh. And your lefties still don’t believe me?

Do you remember when every news outlet in southern Wisconsin reported that the law enforcement community wanted Evers and Barnes to shut up? And specifically asked them to?

Because it happened. Google it.

This is from WLUK in green bay: Wisconsin law enforcement leaders are asking gov. Tony Evers and lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes not to make statements specific to the shooting of Jacob Blake by kenosha police until the facts of the investigation are known.

This week, The City of Kenosha experienced unrest from protests, violent riots and a deadly shooting, in reaction to Sunday’s police shooting of Blake.

In a letter signed by leaders of the WI badger state sheriff’s association, WI sheriff's and deputy sheriff's association, WI chiefs of police association and WI police executive group, they write the comments made by the governor and lieutenant governor in the wake of Blake’s shooting are "premature, judgmental, inflammatory and only add to the anger and divisiveness of an already dangerous situation."

They end the letter by asking Gov. Evers and Lt. Gov. Barnes to call for an end to these riots and stop the violence.

Remember that?

Folks-how Evers and Barnes handled the Kenosha riots is among the biggest disgraces of Evers’ first term, and everyone knows it. So, here’s the j/s working hard-early-to try to give him cover on it.

Pathetic.

And just for the record?

To provide that cover, Glauber and the j/s allow an Evers spokesman to lie and massage the truth repeatedly in this article. Evers’ hack claims.

Quote..

Evers campaign spokesman Sam Roecker fired back that Johnson and Wisconsin Republicans "are spreading pants-on-fire lies about Kenosha and other tragedies to try to score political points and divide our state."

"The fact is that the governor called in the National Guard within 11 hours, doubled the Guard’s presence every night, and provided immediate support with police officers from surrounding areas and the State Patrol," Roecker said in a statement.

Evers-did not- do that. He waited until the next day to engage in any action-despite a desperate day and night of pleading from Cong Bryan Steil and local officials to act pre-emptively, and immediately.

Then, he only called out a pathetically small number of guardsmen for night two-which allowed for another night of rioting, looting, and burning, and then, on day three, he stingily parceled out a few more guardsmen.

Evers and Barnes worked to give the rioters ‘whom with they made clear- they were with in spirit’- all the room they needed for three good nights of arson and rioting.
