It should be illegal for democrats to be talking about spending trillions of dollars more-in govt. spending- and claim that they need to do it to fight inflation.
This is one of the dumbest talking points from the Biden White House and the activist left-yet- and that’s saying something.
It is a byproduct of a regime that touched off runaway inflation with their combination of first, touching off a war on America’s energy suppliers, and then passing a totally unnecessary two-trillion dollar covid relief bill that amounted to a massive dump of dollars into an economy that was already seeing a strong recovery under trump...and therefore...was already seeing supply lines strained.
In short: Biden and the democrats touched off inflation with a flood of money and policies that drove up prices on all goods and services...and now they are claiming that the only way to fix it-is to spend another four-trillion dollar of taxpayer money we don’t have-and cripple America’s top earners with new taxes to try to pay for it all...
And oh year. For good measure...we are just going to keep up our attacks on energy and fossil fuels, too.
How does that scheme-in anyone’s wildest dreams- bring down inflation?
How does it help fix the job shortage? Or supply line problems?
Instead, what it does, is it ensures that this inflation is here to stay. That these price hikes are long-term/permanent.
All the emerging evidence points to inflation being structural, not temporary. And for many months, now, Biden’s regime and his fellow democrats in congress have been ignoring that fact.
For heaven’s sake, people, older economists are starting to talk about the ‘misery index’.
People under 50 might not even know what that is, given that they grew up in the Reagan and Clinton era...but the misery index was invented by economists and pundits to put a measure on the god-awful economy of the Ford and Carter era.
Their arrogant refusal to do so is what’s most alarming.
This country has lived thru terrible presidents before, but at least their intentions were good, and when they had America in a hole, they stopped digging.
With Biden and today’s democrats- we can’t even say that their intentions are good. And they refuse to stop digging.
And if they ruin America, great. That’s the intention of this new brand of democrat, anyway.
They don’t love America. They hate capitalism. They want to destroy the most successful, free, prosperous nation in the history of mankind-because they are certain they can do better with something else.
In truth?
They just want total control. Marxism has never worked where it has been tried. Socialism and communism have never worked, and their failures are littered throughout the 20th century.
These leftists don’t care. They just want the power to lord over the rest of us, and like Madero in Venezuela, they are perfectly happy to lord over the ashes of a once-great nation if that’s what it takes.
But-back to the topic: this inflation isn’t going away.
I notice that the left leaning Jeff Greenfield has a piece at Politico in which he talks about how a president, in truth, doesn’t have much power to bring down rising prices.
Okay. He’s not necessarily wrong on that. But what his lengthy piece fails to mention -is that it was Joe Biden who touched off this inflation!
There isn’t a single sentence in Greenfield’s piece that touches on why the American people are so angry: because this is yet another area that Joe Biden bleeped up....and now he arrogantly pretends otherwise.
Joe Biden-caused! - the nearly seven percent inflation that we are seeing! I think that’s at least worth a mention in a piece that an otherwise smart man is going to write about how, in truth, Biden doesn’t have any real tools to lower it.
Well, then he and his minions should have thought harder before they made moves that triggered it.
We all-know-that Joe Biden is incompetent by now. That’s not even a question. The-anger-comes from the fact that he and his team -created-the inflation. They bulldozed into a delicate situation -an economy that trump had on a fast recovery- and they ruined it. This was a problem Biden and his team created.
That’s far different than a problem that they inherited. Biden didn’t inherit 6.5 percent inflation. It was a very manageable 1.8 percent. He didn’t inherit a supply line crisis.
He inherited a supply line that was delicate because it was ramping back up after a near total shutdown of the global economy. It was going to take a while for producers and suppliers to ramp back up to full speed. Everyone knew it. Trump talked about it.
Biden’s morons bulldozed in and broke it.
We all know what happened here. And so, attempts to flip the script and make President Biden the victim of circumstance here-as Greenfield’s piece attempts to do- aren’t going to fly.
And as for this shockingly stupid claim that even more govt spending and expansion of government is the only way to -fix- inflation-
I mean-if you believe that-you’re really a gullible dope.
Do you know that -yet another- independent analysis came out yesterday that says the democrat’s massive level of new taxation in the reconciliation bill would suck far more money out of the economy than it would raise in new revenue?
This is another hallmark of a bill that is a huge net negative on America-even if you like some of the new freebees Bernie’s plan is promising to give you.
This is from the very credible and respected-and non-partisan- tax foundation.
‘Build back better’ cripples the economy. Permanently. Is what this analysis concludes.
And it-would-be permanent. Because, once lefty lawmakers implement a program or make a mistake-they never, ever, never, ever- admit it and reverse course.
I could spend the rest of the day naming left-wing maneuvers like this- but it is the naked strategy that Jim Doyle used to try to force the half-fast train onto Wisconsin. And it’s the naked strategy Tom Barrett and the leftists in Milwaukee are using on their trolley car system let’s spend so much on it...and so deep into it that when it fails...we can argue that we just need to keep going. It’ll work. Eventually it’ll work. Eventually people will ride it. We just need to keep spending.
This is a hallmark of the left.
You see what ‘build back better’ really is. It is an outrageous attempt to plant fifteen new ‘sunk costs’ flags that American taxpayers are stuck with-forever. This is an intentionally insane-massive- expansion of government- that starts with this rush to plant new flags. Start new govt. programs like ‘free child care’ or ‘free college’ or even a new ‘amnesty system for illegals ’that -cannot-ever be ended or taken away.
