It’s no surprise here given the state of Biden’s America: consumer confidence hit a ten year low in October and 4 million quit their jobs.
Now...most of those people are ‘job hopping’...they aren’t leaving the workforce, and so some of the stories related to the so-called ‘quit rate’ are misleading, but the fact that the American people are ‘job hopping’ at the highest rate in 30 years is another side effect of way too many jobs available and way too few workers to fill them.
We have eleven million job openings in this country, and the ‘labor force participation rate’ hasn’t been this low since the 1970s... before most women worked, too.
The labor force participation rate is a calculation based on everyone over the age of 16 in this country who is in that time of their life in which they-should be- working. Or it would be natural to have a job.
And it hasn’t been this low since the 1970s. That’s concerning and adds big costs to employers: not only do employers have to pay more in terms of wages and salaries to lure workers to take their available jobs, but the quit rate adds the costs of constantly training and retraining new hires.
This chronic lack of workers is another thing that contributes to Biden’s inflation...and no one other than Biden’s lackeys are talking about these price hikes being temporary, or ‘transitory’, anymore.
This is another thing that is adding to the American voter’s view that Biden and his team are ‘out of touch’, by the way: as we deal with screamingly high prices on everything from gas to groceries....and hear the private sector titans and economists saying that these new costs to our families aren’t going to go anywhere, or ease any time soon...
You’ve still got Biden’s minions insisting ‘oh, it’s only temporary, so just.... grin and bear it’.
It’s a terrible message to the American people, and it’s no surprise that this consumer report on Friday showed that people haven’t seen any evidence that Biden and the democrats have any policy fixes to reduce the damage inflation is inflicting on their budgets.
That isn’t just the ‘impression’ that the American people have-that’s the reality.
Biden’s team-does not -have any policy fixes for these runaway prices and isn’t even trying to find any. Instead, they are pushing another four trillion dollars in govt spending and want to heap another two-trillion dollar in taxes onto the American people.
So, no. Biden and the dem’s not only -don’t have fixes for inflation- but they also don’t care about it!!!
And that’s what the American people are picking up on: it’s clear that Biden’s administration and today’s lefty leaders-don’t even care! - that they are screwing you more for the price of everything... And screwing up the supply lines...and screwing up the labor market...etc.
They don’t care.
President’ Obama’s old economic advisor, Larry Summers, is suddenly getting all sorts of attention because he predicted this terrible new inflation when Biden and the democrats were ramming home their final, and totally unnecessary, covid relief bill.
What I get a kick out of is- everyone on the right was predicting it. I was predicting it. Other talkers were predicting it.
More importantly, conservative economists like Stephen Moore and Larry Kudlow and Arthur Laffer were predicting it. But we were all ignored. We don’t exist to the leftists on the east coast.
Larry Summers, an avowed lefty, and Obama’s own economic advisor also said it. He was one of a chorus of us.
But- see- he’s a beltway insider. He’s someone that the New York and dc media members have lionized for years, as a ‘brilliant economic mind’ because he’s one of their own.
Anyone with a brain is predicting it, but the lead democrats in dc are insistent that they are going to-by god- ‘transform’ this country into something that no one asked for and the American people didn’t vote for.
By God-Bernie’s down payment on socialism is going to pass.
And no, they don’t care if they ruin the country...because today’s democrat leaders and activists don’t like this country in the first place.
There are still millions of Americans who call themselves democrats who are good, decent people. And way, way, way too many of them aren’t paying attention to what their party has become, or what the leaders who are running it really stand for, and really want.
Not all democrats want to see America ‘transformed’ from a freedom-loving capitalist country into a freedom less socialist country...but they vote for these extremists, anyway.
Today’s democrats. Ruin. Everything. And their own voters need to wake up to it.
Well- for example-
I have another example of how democrats ruin everything: this last election, held just a few weeks ago, saw the people of St. Paul Minnesota voting in favor of new rent control laws.
This is the typical whine from the leftists about ‘affordable housing’ in the cities, and how landlords are gouging, and how we need to have more low income and fixed income housing.
And so, the democrat voters approved ‘rent control’ in St. Paul on November third.
This has backfired- big time- on them, in just a few short weeks...as developers who had plans in the works have canceled them.
As in: if you aren’t going to let us make a profit on these apartment rentals, why would we build them?
Fantastic.
This is another hallmark of today’s left: every time they do something that amounts to them shooting themselves in the head they act as if everyone else is wrong. Or that the obvious fallout is somehow -still-their political opponents playing games or being evil.
No. This is a simple equation: business owners don’t run their business to employ people. They run them to make a profit. And so, if leftist policies make it impossible for them to do that with 15 dollar an hour wages, they go out of business. We saw that all over the west coast before covid hit.
Now-in St. Paul- same equation: if rent control laws are going to make it impossible for developers to make a profit, or for landlords to rehab their old, degrading properties, well, then it’s not going to happen.
It’s not a bluff.
Just like canceling cops was always going to lead to runaway crime rates. That also wasn’t a ‘bluff’ of a prediction from those of us with common sense.
We all knew it was coming...except for the low IQ idiots on the left who joined the ‘defund the police’ movement.
Of course, crime skyrocketed and still! Most of them won’t admit that they are the cause of it.
Still! Most of them want to continue the war on cops. And continue acting as if it is the criminals who are the victims, not those who have been victimized.
