After being a cause celebre for much of the 2016 election cycle by challenging House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Janesville) to a primary by websites such as Breitbart.com, Paul Nehlen looks to be struggling raise money. In the most recently available financial reports from the Federal Elections Commission (FEC), Nehlen reported raising only a fraction of what he has in the past.
According to Nehlen’s 2017 October Quarterly report from the FEC, the campaign raised just over $87,500. It’s a number which continues a trend for Nehlen (He raised just $36,000 in the prior three months.). Showcasing he has been under-performing financially for his intended rematch against Ryan in 2018.
While these amounts are nothing to sneeze at, they are pittance when compared to what his campaign was raising in 2016 when he raised over $1.4 million throughout his entire campaign.
Broken down by finance reports, Nehlen cash flow dropped has dramatically since 2016.
