November is National Alzheimer’s Family Caregivers Month

My wife Dorothy and I know fully well the difficutly for helping and caring for our Nana, but you can do it. The Alzheimer's Association fo SE Wisconsin is a great resource.  Here's a link to their website https://www.alz.org/sewi

Caring for someone with Alzheimer’s can be overwhelming. Although there are more than 15 million Alzheimer’s and dementia caregivers in the United States, many of them feel very much alone. If you or someone you know is caring for someone with Alzheimer’s, we’re here to help.

Because November is National Family Caregivers month, I want to share the many free resources the Alzheimer’s Association has to support these unsung heroes of the Alzheimer’s epidemic - resources that wouldn’t be available without the support of friends like you. We offer:

  • Education: Caregiving doesn’t come with an instruction manual. That’s why we offer extensive Alzheimer’s information and free e-learning workshops. We also have a Virtual Librarywith more than 5,000 books, journals, cassettes, videos and CD-ROMs to borrow.
  • Support: We help connect caregivers with professionals and one another. Our 24/7 Helpline (800.272.3900) is staffed around the clock to offer information and assistance, and ALZConnected™, our online caregiver community, is a great place to find and share support on a national and local level.
  • Tools: From a Care Team Calendar that helps organize family and friends to Alzheimer’s Navigator™, an online assessment tool that creates customized Alzheimer’s action plans, we have a variety of tools to help caregivers cope.

Alzheimer’s doesn’t just affect those who have the disease - it invades the lives of everyone around them. Please help ensure that we can continue to provide much-needed resources to caregivers. Give today.
