The House of Representatives' Committee on House Administration, which oversees federal elections, has launched an investigation into "Milwaukee Votes 2022," the controversial program in which the City of Milwaukee has partnered with a Democrat firm on a get-out-the-vote drive.
Republicans on the Committee, led by Wisconsin Representative Bryan Steil, sent a letter to Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson demanding all communication the City has had with GPS Impact, the Democrat group running "Milwaukee Votes 2022" as well as "a detailed explanation of how your office's involvement with Milwaukee Votes 2022 complies with relevant state and federal law."
"We write today to express our concern about the recent announcement of the Milwaukee Votes 2022 campaign, a privately funded, government-sponsored, partisan get-out-the vote effort you endorsed while acting in your official capacity as mayor of Milwaukee," the Congressmen wrote Johnson.
The Wisconsin Assembly has also launched an investigation into Milwaukee Votes 2022, and the Republican Party of Wisconsin has filed a lawsuit in state court seeking an injunction stopping the program.
Wisconsin Congressman Bryan Steil joined "The Dan O'Donnell Show" Tuesday morning to discuss the federal investigation. Click on the player below to listen.
