Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley ignored Wisconsin's statewide mask mandate as well as his own social distancing guidelines while drinking in a Madison bar this week, sources revealed to "The Dan O'Donnell Show." Crowley, who was in Madison for the annual Wisconsin Counties Association Legislative Agenda, stopped by Paradise Lounge Tuesday night.
A source took a short video of Crowley, who was not wearing a mask and was within six feet of several other patrons.
The State of Wisconsin, Dane County, and the City of Madison all mandate the wearing of masks while in bars or restaurants, and Crowley himself has enacted a mask mandate in Milwaukee County. He has also urged his constituents to follow guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and maintain six feet of social distance from people who do not live in the same household.
The Milwaukee County COVID-19 website also encourages residents to "not gather in groups" and "stay out of crowded places and avoid mass gatherings" because "every face-to-face interaction you have means you could be spreading COVID-19."
Crowley himself has repeatedly echoed this advice, and in fact just hours before heading to Paradise Lounge, said during his daily COVID press briefing that "we must stay vigilant in practicing physical distancing and mask-wearing."
The County Executive's Office did not respond to a request for comment.
