ProHealth Care Providers Ignore Their Own Social Distancing Requirements

A day after ProHealth Care's CEO signed an open letter urging the public to keep social distance, employees of the company's Waukesha Memorial Hospital ignored this advice in a parade for first responders.

ProHealth Care was so proud of the parade that it highlighted it on its Facebook page Wednesday afternoon.

It also tweeted about the parade Thursday morning.

Just a day before that parade, however, ProHealth Care's Facebook page posted a letter to the public signed by CEO Susan Edwards asking for "your help to keep our caregivers safe" by "continuing to stay home, keep social distance and wash your hands. Simple to say, sometimes not so easy to do, and absolutely life-saving."

Waukesha Memorial Hospital's employees proved that it is indeed sometimes not so easy to do.

Wednesday's parade was not the first time ProHealth Care advertised its employees ignoring social distancing guidelines. On April 10th, the company posted photos of workers gathered inches apart while posing behind a sign reading "Heroes Work Here."

ProHealth Care also tweeted a picture with the caption "Continue to practice social distancing and hand hygiene at all times."

On April 2nd, ProHealth Care posted a picture of a group of hospital doctors and nurses posing with signs reading "We stay here for you, please stay home for us." Perhaps not recognizing the irony, the photo was captioned "Right now, keeping your distance matters to everyone's health."

When ProHealth Care tweeted that photo, it did so with the caption "Right now keeping your distance matters to everyone's health."

Naturally, these doctors and nurses must work in close contact with one another, but gathering together at such a close distance for something as superfluous as a photo op seems to be an unnecessary risk (especially since two of the people pictured are not wearing masks).

ProHealth Care has not yet responded to a request for comment.
