Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee have voted to hold Attorney General William Barr in contempt because he refused to...break the law.
In demanding that Barr make available the full, unredacted Mueller Report, they are forcing him to release material that Federal Rule of Criminal Procedure 6(e) expressly prohibits. Even more bizarrely, six Democrats on the Judiciary Committee (and six Republicans) have been allowed to see a less redacted version of the report.
No Democrats have chosen to do so.
So why do they want Barr to violate the law and provide them with material that is already available to a good number of them? Because they rather obviously want to leak it to the public to politically harm President Trump ahead of the 2020 election.
