Cory Booker would very much like you to know that he is Spartacus; bravely standing up to the forces of oppression and exposing the truth to the masses no matter the consequences.
In reality, he's nothing of the sort. The truth he revealed about Judge Kavanaugh during his cynical stunt at Kavanaugh's confirmation hearing Thursday was that Kavanaugh opposed racial profiling in the aftermath of 9/11. And Booker revealed that truth at literally no risk to his own career, as the emails he released had been declassified hours earlier.
As Dan O'Donnell explained during his opening monologue Friday, Booker may have thought he was shouting "I am Spartacus," but he was really singing "Anything you can do, I can do better" after an equally grandstanding stunt by fellow Democratic presidential contender Kamala Harris a day earlier.
