Nicholson Urges Conservatives to Vote for Screnock

Republican Senate candidate Kevin Nicholson is urging conservatives to vote for conservative Sauk County Circuit Court judge Michael Screnock for the State Supreme Court.

Nicholson, who is running for the Republican nomination to challenge Democratic Senator Tammy Baldwin in November, told The Dan O'Donnell Show that Judge Screnock is the only choice for Wisconsin's conservatives.

"Take all of the reforms the Legislature has made over the past eight years of Governor Walker's administration and you can put them at risk with a Court that doesn't respect the rule of law," Nicholson said, chastising Screnock's liberal opponent, Milwaukee County Circuit Court judge Rebecca Dallet for promoting "San Francisco values" during a recent fundraising visit to the city.  "The people of Wisconsin need to get out there and make their voice heard."

In a wide-ranging interview in which Nicholson also weighed in on a battle over special elections in Wisconsin and the Milwaukee Brewers' chances this season, the candidate also offered a full-throated endorsement of Screnock as both a Supreme Court justice and a person.

"[Screnock] is an incredibly decent human being and a great person and a true adherent to the Rule of Law," added Nicholson.  "At the end of the day, with Michael Screnock, what you're going to get is a ruling based on law.  That's exactly what you want from a court; someone who is not looking to super-legislate or supersede the role of the Governor or supersede the role of the Legislature."
