Farrakhan and Duke: Two Sides of the Same Awful Coin

Louis Farrakhan and David Duke sound identical in their hate and bigotry. So why does the media loudly and continually condemn political ties to one and not the other?

Listen for yourself but be warned, the content is extremely offensive because, well, it's Louis Farrakhan and David Duke:

Farrakhan: The satanic Jews that control everything and mostly everybody...

Duke: ...And there is a problem with a very strong, powerful tribal group that dominates our media and dominates our banking...

Farrakhan: ...The wicked ones in the Jewish community that run America, run the government, run the world, own the banks, own the means of communication. They are my enemies!

Duke: Let me tell you something: I'm against the Jews or anyone else who puts the interests of some other place, another country, over our own country; that is controlling and dominating the media, which is teaching black people to hate white people and inciting them to violence.

Farrakhan: International bankers financed Hitler and poor Jews died while big Jews were at the root of what you call the Holocaust.

Duke: It's almost impossible in our Holocaust-saturated world to even say the word "Jew" without arousing emotion. The mass media of the western world have made that so with their unrelenting packaging and repackaging of the Holocaust.

Farrakhan: It is now becoming apparent that there were many Israelis and Zionist Jews in key roles in the 9/11 attacks.

Duke: It is of course extremely difficult to prove the precise role of a secretive foreign intelligence organization such as the Mossad in a terrorist act--they are in fact a super-secret spy organization. But powerful evidence shows that Israelis had foreknowledge of the September 11 attack on America.

Farrakhan: So if the federal government will not intercede in our affairs, then we must rise up and kill those who kill us; stop them and kill them and let them feel the pain of death that we are feeling!

Seriously, Farrakhan and Duke sound like the exact same person.  Only one of them, however, is a complete (and well-deserved) pariah in America's political discourse.  No political figure would ever meet with David Duke, as it would likely mean the end of his or her political career, but The Daily Caller News Foundation discovered that seven of the most prominent members of the Congressional Black Caucus have met privately with Farrakhan over the years:

California Reps. Maxine Waters and Barbara Lee, Illinois Rep. Danny Davis, Indiana Rep. Andre Carson, Minnesota Rep. Keith Ellison, New York Rep. Gregory Meeks and Texas Rep. Al Green have all attended meetings with Farrakhan while in Congress, according to photos, videos and witness accounts of the meetings reviewed by The Daily Caller News Foundation.

Davis has a personal relationship with Farrakhan and is unbothered by Farrakhan’s position on “the Jewish question,” he told TheDCNF on Sunday. Davis called Farrakhan an “outstanding human being” in an interview with The Daily Caller in February and said he has regularly visited with Farrakhan.

Really, an "outstanding human being?" Louis Farrakhan? The same Louis Farrakhan who thinks Jews were responsible for both the 9/11 attacks and the Holocaust? How exactly has Congressman Davis not yet been pressured to step down for this utter nonsense?

One couldn't possibly imagine a sitting Congressman singing the praises of David Duke, so why is it in any way acceptable that one is totally okay with Farrakhan's bigotry on what he actually called "the Jewish question?"

Seriously, a sitting Congressman used the phrase "the Jewish question" and no one seems particularly bothered by this.  Nor is anyone, it seems, particularly bothered by Farrakhan sitting in on a Congressional Black Caucus meeting in 2005, where he apparently took this doozy of a photo with a young Senator named Barack Obama

According to Askia Muhammad, the photographer who snapped that picture (and just released it in January--a full year after President Obama left office), the Congressional Black Caucus pressured him to keep it hidden so as to not to harm Obama's promising political future.

Clearly, Congressional Black Caucus members knew then that even being photographed with a bigot like Farrakhan was political poison, so why now is the national media so hesitant to follow up on The Daily Caller's reporting and even ask these Congressional representatives about their ties to him?

Other prominent liberals, too, seem to support Farrakhan's bigotry. Tamkia Mallory, the co-president of the Women's March, recently attended the Nation of Islam's annual Saviour's Day event, at which Farrakhan spouted his usual anti-Semitic filth.

Instead of apologizing, she has doubled down; saying that she has attended Saviour's Day for more than 30 years.  Heck, at one point she even posted an Instagram photo of Farrakhan, calling him "the GOAT" (greatest of all-time).

This, however, has flown largely under the radar as nearly nearly every major media outlet has refused to extensively report on it. One has to wonder whether there would be a similar lack of attention to NRA President Wayne LaPierre attending a David Duke speech.

Such indifference to such prominent liberal support of Farrakhan (as opposed to, say, the breathless coverage of Duke's endorsement of Donald Trump--which Trump disavowed repeatedly) is deeply troubling, as there is no fundamental difference between Duke's hate and Farrakhan's. They are two sides of the same awful coin, but the media only seems interested in making those with ties to one of them pay.
