Have you ever tried to teach a child to swim?
For some parents, it can be a harrowing experience.
Since it's such an unknown and scary proposition, the youth will often cry, scream, kick, and do anything to avoid getting in the water.
It can be an overwhelming situation full of "what ifs" for the child, and since it takes them way outside of their comfort zone, they'll often strenuously resist.
How does the parent help the child overcome their fear and initial hesitation?
By assuring them that they are loved, no harm will come to them; all they have to do is trust you.
We often find ourselves in situations where fear holds us back and we refuse to move forward.
That's when our Heavenly Father reminds us that we are loved and must trust Him completely.
