(Waukesha, WI) -- As a marching band was performing in the Waukesha Christmas Parade, a red SUV drove through parade route barricades and into the band performers, other parade participants, and into the crowd lining the street, Waukesha Police say more than 20 people are hurt, and there is a report that more than one person is dead.

Dan O'Donnell is taking live callers Sunday evening on NewsTalk 1130 WISN. One man tells O'Donnell the SUV flew through the parade route, hitting people, and continuing out of sight. A woman caller says there were people left lying in the street. Another man says most of his family is being taken to the hospital.

The City of Waukesha put out an emergency notice, calling it a mass casualty event, and the police chief confirmed that an officer shot at the SUV as it passed through the parade route.

The Police have issued a shelter-in-place order for the Five Points area on Main Street in Waukesha, and say they have a person of interest in mind.
