Exotic animals are not something you see on the road in Wisconsin all the time, but one man captured two wandering the streets of the Dairy State.

According to WBAY, the Outagamie County Sheriff's Office received a call from a man after he saw two zebras walking in the Seymour area.

David Haupt was driving just outside of Seymour when he saw two zebras on the corner of County Highway G and Maass Road.

"I'm right outside of Seymour, there's a couple of zebras walking down the middle of the road, and if you think I'm kidding, I'm not," said Haupt.

Haupt ran the zebras into a hayfield and away from the busy road. "They were off in the distance, as I got closer, they looked like horses, and I got closer and I happened to be talking to somebody on my headset and I'm like 'I think I see zebras' and they were like no way, I'm like 'Nope those are Zebras,'" Haupt told WBAY.

He called the Outagamie County Sheriff's Office to tell them about the wandering zebras.

"Well, it's not the first exotic animal call we've gotten, every once in a while you get something different, but yeah, having a garbage truck driver call you and say 'well, there are two zebras in the road,' is a bit unusual," said Sgt. Nathan Borman, Outagamie County Sheriff's Department.

The Outagamie County Sheriff's posted photos on their Facebook page of the two zebras with the caption:

"Often you hear officers say they enjoy that each day at work is different, you never know what you will encounter. Today it was Zebras in the Seymour area."

Deputies say the zebras belong to nearby neighbors and the owners were able to round up the pair of zebras in about 40 minutes.
