I’ve been saying today’s Democrats are dangerously dumb. They are also proving themselves to be dangerously uncaring.
I’ve got a clip here from the Washington DC police chief. His name is Robert Contee...and he’s a Black man who is obviously a liberal in good standing...or he wouldn’t have gotten the job from a socialist lefty mayor and dc common council.
Let’s be clear Contee is not, some conservative sheriff. He’s a liberal dc police chief who-you will hear-is clearly trying to walk the line between calling out the people running that city for their dangerous stupidity....and keeping his job.
Before he made this comment, he made some comments about how we cannot ignore the fact that violent criminals are violent criminals.
We can’t just pretend certain people aren’t violent and aren’t going to continually victimize the city until they are locked up.
Those statements were push-back against a mayor and council that want to defund the dc police and act like guidance counselors can keep the city safe.
But this clip stood out to me because i have been firmly against legalizing pot, because it’s not harmless, and it leads to even more problems in society. More crime. More impaired driving. More hospital bills and medical costs. More drugged out kids in our schools, and who, if they start smoking it young enough and often enough, are burnouts lost to society at an early age- who will likely never get their act together.
Legalizing weed is stupid. And I know I’m currently in the minority on that issue, but it doesn’t mean I’m wrong.
The pro-pot crowd is wrong. And they are wrong on every single claim they make in favor of legalization.
The claim that they are the most wrong on, is that legalizing pot means the black market for it dries up...because people can buy it in stores.
That. Is idiotic.
Instead-the black-market booms-because drug dealers can absolutely undercut the store prices-
And now-with weed decriminalized-they don’t even have police and prosecutors looking to arrest and jail them. The illegal pot trade has-boomed- in the states that legalized weed out west. Colorado, Washington, Oregon, California, and I assume other states that have legalized it, too.
That means the crime associated with it has boomed, too. Listen to Washington dc’s liberal police chief admit that legalizing weed there has backfired...even if he soft-sells it-to try to keep his job.

The police chief of Washington dc says- legalized pot-is undoubtedly connected to the city’s surge in violent crime.
In DC using and having weed on your person-are not illegal. Selling it remains illegal. That’s why he’s talking about illegal selling operations and dealers walking around with measured-out amounts so that they can’t be arrested and prosecuted.
He is correct when he says- their pro-pot laws have only made the incentive for criminals to sell drugs-high-and the risk of punishment has never been lower. The chief even points to prosecutors who refuse to prosecute crimes related to marijuana.
Now duplicate those facts and apply them to every city and state that has pro-pot laws and/or has legalized weed.
The illegal drug trade is booming...and an increase in crime comes with it.
Our nonsensical drug laws and this foolish campaign to legalize weed is yet another way that democrats are-dangerously- stupid and uncaring, yes.
