Woman Pled With Amazon Alexa For Help As She Lay Dying From Coronavirus

A Michigan woman who died from COVID-19 was pleading with her Alexa for help in the days before she passed away. LouAnn Dagen, 66, was living in a nursing home in Cedar Springs when she was diagnosed with the coronavirus. Before she was moved to the emergency room, Dagen asked Alexa for help dealing with the pain.

Dagen's sister Penny found 40 heartbreaking recordings of her sister asking Alexa for help and shared them with WOOD-TV.

"I am in pain. I have to find a way to relieve it. Can you help me cope with pain," LouAnn asked the personal assistant.

Dagen's condition quickly deteriorated, and she had to be taken to the emergency room at a local hospital where she was placed on a respirator until she passed away.

"They asked me about giving her CPR if her heart stopped and I said, 'No, she didn't want that,'" Penny told the news station. "And then her heart stopped, and that was it. A half-hour after they called."

Penny said that while she is sad to lose her sister, she is glad that she isn't in pain anymore.

"She's up in heaven now, so she's pain-free, and she's walking… with my mom and my dad, so I have to be happy for her," she said.
