A Quinnipiac University pollthat was released Tuesday showed 51 percent of registered voters were against impeachment, while 45 percent of registered voters supported it.

'With Washington in turmoil and House Democrats poised to vote on impeaching the president for abuse of power and ostruction of Congress, American voters signal they are slightly more inclined not to impeach than to impeach,' said Quinnipiac University Polling Analyst Tim Malloy in a statement.

The Quinnipiac poll comes on the heels of three surveys from Firehouse Strategiesout of pivotal swing states Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan.
