President Donald Trump called for unity during his Fourth of July speech in front of the Lincoln Memorial during his Salute to America celebration. The President paid tribute to the U.S. military and the nation's history and said the U.S. must go forward as a nation with unity and a common purpose.
"We must go forward as a nation with that same unity of purpose," Trump said. "As long as we stay true to our course, as long as we remember our great history, as long as we never, ever stop fighting for a better future, then there will be nothing that America cannot do."
President Trump said that as Americans "we share one home, one heart and we are all made by one almighty God," and if we work together "there will be nothing that America cannot do."
"Today, just as it did 243 years ago, the future of American Freedom rests on the shoulders of men and women willing to defend it," Trump told the crowd. "As long as we stay true to our cause — as long as we remember our great history — and as long as we never stop fighting for a better future—then there will be nothing that America cannot do."
Trump ended his speech by calling out each branch of the military as aircraft, including F-22 Raptors and B-2 Stealth Bombers, F-18 Super Hornets and Army Apache helicopters, flew overhead.
